I am on my way home from an Opera. I don’t usually go to the opera but it is always fun to see a live performance. I saw Herr Arnings Penningar by Selma Lagerlöv. It tell the story about a girl that survived a brutal break-in where everyone else gets murdered. She later falls in love with a man who turns out to be the man who murdered her sister. I was not the best thing I have seen but had a nice evening.

Did that pesky yardwork stuff I’ve been meaning to get to. Fought back the lawn overgrowing the sidewalk - it’s about 8 inches wider now than it had been. I do this about once a year, and it’s always a big pain. Also fought back some of the rest of the yard overgrowth.

Did doing it make my day? Not by a long shot. Does having it done make my day. Yeah, kind of.

Getting Iron Maiden tickets has made my day. Loved them when I was a youngling & this is probably gonna be their last big tour.

I finished my first two days of college. I was rather nervous about it for the entire summer but it’s good. I currently only have one class for a few weeks before the second one starts in a week or two which makes it easier to get familiar with things. I also only have classes from Monday to Thursday and get out of school earlier than I usually do which makes me have more free time during the week.

Just went out for dinner with my theatre group. We got kicked out of our theatre space last year which was really sad and we’ve been looking for something new ever since, and this week they signed the lease on a new theatre! So we were celebrating :tada:

So I got offered a job on Wednesday night, explicitly told I was the best person for the position and the general manager’s first choice. Great, right?

Not so great is the email the next day basically saying “Hey, sorry I spoke too soon, our owner decided to go with some twat his mate recommended” so I’ve been in a pretty sour mood all day.

Flipside, The Cure released a new song and it’s so beautiful and fantastic. It’s the little lifts.

They’re still alive? I’m not as old as I thought I was! Made my day.

(And fingers crossed for the next job opportunity. :crossed_fingers:)

It’s been 11 weeks since I twisted my ankle really badly.

It’s still not perfect but I just went to the gym and went for a run the first time since I was injured.

So that’s made my day

I got careless and broke this gadget that only arrived this Wednesday. It feels just like the moment I realized that I had my earphones inside the trousers’ pocket when I tossed them into the washing machine. Hope things like this happen less in my daily life…

Still alive and touring! I saw them in Chicago at Riot last year and they were just as good, if not better, than when I last saw them about 11 years before at the Reading Festival in 2011! For my money the best live act I’ve ever seen.

Their keyboard player did just get diagnosed with cancer, unfortunately, so this might be the last record, but the song is tremendous.

I was gonna be on a date today. Alas… I’m sick

But I have been starting to rewatch the Capaldi era with Deep Breath and Into the Dalek yesterday

Just checked the date for the next “Music for Devoted People” party—a mix of Depeche Mode hits, dark wave, synthpop, gothic, and heavy electronics, located on a boat anchored in Nuremberg. It’s next week, and I will most likely—fingers crossed—be able to use a work trip to Nuremberg to visit the party. Mega!

I caught up on ONE PIECE’s last five tankōbons after nine month of not thinking about it at all. The stories still feel exactly like when I got into the whole thing in sixth grade. When I read those pages, I fell like a little boy again, every time.

I went to a comic event thingy for the first time in my life, and it was really scary, and i was stressed out of my mind the entire time, but i talked with one of my favorite comic artists ever. It was very short of course, but still, a personal achievement you could say haha. I said words and he said words back!!! And i bought a sketch!

Not everyone I wanted to see was there, so i assume they were either there the previous day or i was just late. (the site was horribly unclear on when everyone would be there)
Someone had asked me to ask questions to some of the artists for his blog, and because not everyone was present while i was, only two of those i managed to ask, but like i said, the fact i was able to ask in the first place and did not run away was crazy enough for me lol.

Part 1 of my husband’s secret birthday celebrations was a success last night, got part 2 starting in a few hours! It’s going to be all day and overnight

Sad that a bunch of people couldn’t make it though, mostly because it’s a weekday and they have kids, but also my surprise guests who we hadn’t seen in years had to cancel because of work.

But I’m sure he will enjoy it! Everyone has been lying and saying it’s a shame they won’t see him on his birthday, it’s cruel lol
