Edit: I come downstairs to see the router has a solid red light on it that has “been there for months” and my mum can’t be bothered to address it because it’s not affecting her.
Edit 2: I didn’t know the outer casing was actually the ventilation system until I researched into the router design. My mother had been placing it horizontally, blocking half the vents for about 7 years. I just went down to ask her to put it vertical (it was hot to touch), and Internet speeds have already improved massively
Somehow I got an A- for the quarter in my science class, which is strange since I tend to get Bs and Cs on the assessments. I think I got that grade from doing the homework and being accurately with it, but I’m still thoroughly shocked. Also, I got coffee today, which is fun!
Just for reference, by placing it vertically, download speeds have gone from 1-4mbps to 44mbps.
My whole family was living in the dark ages by having it horizontal. I just thought most people had amazing wifi plans whenever they’d mention short download speeds.
Went to the Phillies game today. Haven’t been to one in several years, but my sister gave us tickets for Christmas. It was a bit chilly and there was momentary rain, but it was a close, tense game with some memorable moments and the Phillies won. So, falls in the “made my day” category.
One week off work starts today. I’ve taken Tuesday and Wednesday off and Friday and Monday are official vacation days at most workplaces. We’re going to spend Easter at my in-laws’ villa while they’re out sailing. We have sunny and warm days coming up!
I’m not sure @MrColdStream can physically find any more time in the day to be on TARDIS Guide unless a) he gets a divorce or b) he builds a time machine.
Yes, I’ve always dreamt about divorcing my wife building a time machine so that I can spend every waking hour here rather than enjoying chocolate eggs and sunny weather!
Had to Google this and god now I’m ****ing fuming. I am so sick and tired of this country, and how absolutely hateful all the people in charge and in the press are; even though the public generally aren’t. Awful.
Feeling ashamed to be Scottish today knowing it was a group from there that brought this about. That being said, in more positive news yesterdays latest polling for the Scottish elections next year are showing that there’s a chance we could have a left-wing opposition to a left-wing government which would just be fab.
I spend too much time angry and horrified at what’s going on in my country, so much so that I sometimes contemplate what it would be like to emigrate to another country with less corruption and intolerance. The United Kingdom would be my haven of choice, as I wouldn’t have to pay so much shipping to get my Doctor Who-related merchandise and because many of the citizens there speak American well enough for me to understand them. But if the climate is going to be just as bad there… I’m starting to think I should have learned to speak Scandinavian.
