What returning villain do you hope to see in 15s era and why?

Ooh yes and we know Leela has been rescued from the Time War:

Yes, so we should definitely have her (not to mention that she’s high on my list of companions).

We would need a new regeneration of the Rani, sadly. (I still have this awful idea of getting Bonnie Langford to play her…)

That is an excellent idea

There are a couple Big Finish stories with a new incarnation of The Rani (played by Siobhán Redmond). Unfortunately, with the passing of Pip and Jane Baker (in 2020 and 2014 respectively), it is my understanding that the rights to the character are very much up in the air. That said, I would love to see more Rani stories in any medium.

Most definitely the Monk, and the Silence.

They both have such potential that hasn’t been fully explored, and would absolutely make ideal antagonists for potentially strong stories in 15’s era. Though I’d argue the Monk shouldn’t be fully antagonistic… The Monk could be such a wonderful parallel to the Doctor, by attempting to “meddle”, and potentially want to actually help, but in doing so, completely muck up time. In general, the Doctor having to stop a fellow time-traveler from interfering with time is something that’s sorely underdone. Hell, even if not the Monk, why not refugees from Gallifrey- there being nothing BUT rogue timelords left, is a concept that needs to be used. It’s so annoying having it be destroyed and come back over and over- how about actually using the destruction to create an interesting new dynamic and new conflict now, instead of just “everyone’s dead again”. There being many Timelords escaped and mucking about in the Universe now is a wonderful concept- especially if the Doctor has to stop the ones causing trouble, and help the others.

As for the Silence, they have such a unique role, and so many ways you could use them in a story. As genetically-engineered creatures. they are completely feasible to be around the universe in a variety of ways. And are absolutely one of the most frightening designs in New Who. I would love to see them make a return, separate from their origins.

Ohh yes +1 for The Silence, I absolutely love them.

Definitely bring back the Monk. Rufus Hound has been doing an amazing job for Big Finish as of late.

We need a triumphant return of the Draconians.

One I forgot at first that should absolutely be brought back… the Trickster. Such a fantastic villain to never appear outside SJA. The Trickster’s Brigade is implied to be quite a big deal, and seeing the return of him along with his compatriots would absolutely be lovely.

Who knows, maybe I have no need to wish, and Beep the Meep was part of his brigade all along… I suppose we’ll find out.

My only issue with the Trickster is… he has one method of attacking (tempt someone to go back in time and change things) that he became a bit repetitive.

And though he’s not been in the new Rani Takes On The World audios, he may as well have been, because Mrs Wormwood did exactly the same thing! It’s almost like Sarah Jane is synonymous with the Trickster’s tactics.

So yes perhaps The Trickster’s Brigade, a whole team of baddies that trick people into doing bad things to themselves but hopefully in different ways

I’ve always loved the Ice Warriors. Cold War and Empress of Mars are two of my favourite modern standalones!

I really enjoyed both those stories and would love them to get a two parter maybe like the Zygons did.

Oh that would be nice, and set (at least partially) on ancient Mars too

Ooh yes - that’s a fab idea.

But the Silence have been in every episode. Have you forgotten already?

Bring back the Creature from the Pit.

Lol I could get behind that

Another villain return I’d like would be the Master of the Land of Fiction.

I almost feel like we might actually be going that direction, too…

Only if we get the Karkus as well.

No objection here!

((Maybe we could get a, er, fictional version of Jamie in the story, too?)
