What non–Big Finish audiodramas do you want on AudioLog?

Now that https://audiolog.guide/ is live with audiodramas from Big Finish, we want your help figuring out what other audiodramas should be added to the site.

The focus is on full-cast audio dramas made by professional companies.
So not audiobooks, otherwise this would just turn into Goodreads. :joy:

Any suggestions?

Awesome!

If it’s not on your list to include already, wanna make sure Imagination Theater is on your radar for whenever you expand beyond Big Finish as there’s some writer overlap with Doctor Who that could make it of interest to people here. (And also there’s already one story from them here on tardis.guide for Erimem)

I’d love to see Baker’s End!

Baker’s End - Bafflegab Productions / https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Baker's_End_(audio_series)

Its a bizarre series starring Tom Baker as a fictional version of himself and its hilarious, he stars alongside Katy Manning! All the epsiodes are avaliable on Audible.

I personally have been listening to GraphicAudio’s adaptations of the Mistborn books, and even if they are on the border to audiobooks, I would class them as audio dramas that would fit great at AL.

would be wonderful to see the Magnus Archives and Magnus Protocol on there :)

So this will encompass not only BF but other professional Audio Dramas?

I would suggest the 2000AD range from Penguin -

Dark Adventure Radio Theatre; adaptations of Lovecraft stories done in the style of old radio dramas from the era -

There is also the Wireless Theatre Company. They have produced their own audio dramas, such as The Springheel Saga about Springheel’d Jack, as well as producing some of the Audible drama adaptations, e.g. Oliver Twist.

Haha, I was waiting for that. I have not heard it, please don’t reprimand me for that error on my part.

Graphic Audio are great. The comic book stuff I have listened to from them is great. It’s been a while since I dived back into them.

They feel alot like BF in there type of production.

Oh for sure. Also I think they have a decent budget so they can get excellent voice actors. As much as I love BF, sometimes the voice talents feel “meh” and “samey”.

Wait these aren’t already on TARDIS guide? I heard it was a spiritual successor to the Nest Cottage chronicles!

Seconding Capin Pressure – along with John Finnemore’s Souvenir Programme and John Finnemore’s Double Acts, which are such beautiful pieces of writing!

The BBC Limelight series (audio drama miniseries) is excellent and absolutely should be on the site!

Also seconding Hitchhikers. I’ve been listening to the BBC Sherlock Holmes radios recently too and they’re great fun (although there are a lot!).

I believe they’re on a spreadsheet somewhere waiting to be uploaded?

Radio shows like Adventures in Odyssey and The Goon Show, those newfangled franchise shows like Batman: Unburied, Wolverine, and The Chaotix Casefiles, and, at a stretch, actual play podcasts like The Adventure Zone and Dungeons and Daddies. In particular, the first season of The Adventure Zone has a really good ending. Would love to gush about it.

Alongside the Magnus Archives, which I have already seen mentioned here, there are quite a few other great audio drama podcasts which have been released: Passenger List, Unwell, Wooden Overcoats to name a few, but my absolute favourite and one that needs to be highlighted now more than ever is the anthology podcast, The Truth, which has some of the best audio storytelling I’ve ever heard and has only relatively recently made a comeback.

I hadn’t thought of these. It will be tricky to figure out how to set clear limits on what should be included on AL and what shouldn’t.

I imagine it will be a pretty endless task unfortunately, and I’m not sure what limits you would set. Hopefully the community on here would be able to provide some sort of consensus but other than that :man_shrugging:

There’s also the thin line between audio books and audio drama. I would love for I am in Eskew and The Silt Verses to be added — respectively one of either (and made by the same production team).
