The Eleventh Hour was my very first Doctor Who episode ever. I absolutely love it! I personally think it’s the best Modern season opener and definitely a better season opener than Deep Breath. It also works much better as a introductory episode for new viewers. I would much rather give a new viewer this than Deep Breath. I don’t remember Deep Breath very well, but I remember not caring that much for it. Plus, the “Hello, I’m the Doctor. Basically, run!” speech is amazing.

The Eleventh Hour is an amazing series opener and one of the best. I can see why people would recommend this as a starting point after rewatching it recently. 11 is amazing and I love how he bounces off of Amy.
