Okay, not really. My avatar is a picture I randomly ran across that combines two things I am very fond of. Doctor Who, of course, and the Muppets, specifically Kermit. But we can pretend it’s a picture of me, right?

Mine used to be a picture of me dressed as a dalmatian when we had World Book Day at school and all the teachers dressed up as dalmatians (as in 101 Dalmatians) - and it still is my pic on Discord.
Then I changed it to a shot of me from about 10 years ago a friend who’s a good photographer took which made me enjoy looking better than I do 10 years later…
Recently I changed it to the shot of me from the Stuff of Legend meet up because it’s one of very few pictures of myself I’ve ever liked. It’s a bit grainy because I was furthest from the camera.

Mine is one of the weird bubbles from the background of one of the promo posters for series 11.
Basically, I didn’t want to put my face online, but I also didn’t want to use someone else’s face instead. I was thinking about finding a nice piece of abstract art, then the first promo images for series 11 started releasing, with the cast in front of weird and abstract backgrounds, and I realised those were perfect. I went with this bubble because it’s vaguely face-shaped, while quite clearly not being a face. It’s distinctive, but it also doesn’t really look like anything specific.
I would say I generally try to keep a consistent picture across multiple platforms, but I’m not really on that many platforms, just this, Tumblr, and discord.

So that’s what it is! I’ve been going crazy trying to decipher the Mystery of the Faceless Bubble! But I like the obvious Doctor Who connection - if someone gets that without the explanation, they are a hardcore fan!

Mine is of Sergeant Andy Davidson, ally of Torchwood Three, member of Torchwood Soho and ofc one of the 8th doctor’s companions. He’s became one of my favorite Whoniverse characters.

whenever i don’t know what to put as my avatar somewhere i just put ace in there. i don’t want my own face on accounts like this, and ace is reasonably similar to me in some ways. but there’s not much logic to it, she’s just my default. i have a few random pictures of her saved and i just pick whichever one i notice first.
