I recently spent a few months wandering around New Zealand, and one evening in Christchurch, I heard about a sci-fi/fantasy/comic-themed place called Astro Lounge, so I walked the 1k or so from my lodgings and was greeted by a life-sized image of the TARDIS decorating the wooden gate leading to an outdoor fairy-lit nerd nirvana where I happily spent a couple of blissful hours sipping black raspberry Chambord, eating space cake, and conversing with the owner and staff. When it came time to select an avatar for this community, that photo in my phone seemed eminently apropos…

It’s an old Danny O’Day ventriloquist dummy head (smashed up during a… moment, let’s say) serving as a makeshift penholder for my Eleventh screwdriver toy. I keep on my bookshelf. I originally took that picture as a part of a BlueSky prompt, and I originally went with my usual blog emblem when I first joined this forum, but I switched to this because I see it as fitting for how much Doctor Who has been on my brain of late.

Nothing just about it! Troughton is underrated and one of the best Doctors! Love him, and it’s fun to see a pfp from a Doctor actor in a non-Doctor role.
This one always makes me a bit scared when it pops up, haha. It looks so angry and reminds us all that we should be nice to you ;)
