I recently spent a few months wandering around New Zealand, and one evening in Christchurch, I heard about a sci-fi/fantasy/comic-themed place called Astro Lounge, so I walked the 1k or so from my lodgings and was greeted by a life-sized image of the TARDIS decorating the wooden gate leading to an outdoor fairy-lit nerd nirvana where I happily spent a couple of blissful hours sipping black raspberry Chambord, eating space cake, and conversing with the owner and staff. When it came time to select an avatar for this community, that photo in my phone seemed eminently apropos…
