What if I was a Doctor Who showrunner?

Hello, this is probably the fourth time someone here tried this. But I wanted to leave my take here nonetheless. This will have my own Doctor - I don’t know who would play him though.

SEASON 1:

Episode 1: The Paradox of Grief - The Doctor arrives at a time-looped pocket universe’d London where a grieving father witnesses his daughter’s death, grieves, witnesses it again, grieves again… and this happens time and time again.
This grieving father (His name is Roger Castle) will be the Doctor’s companion for the next 3 seasons.

Episode 2: What Are You Tolkien About? - A pseudo historical set in the First World War where the Doctor and Roger meet J.R.R. Tolkien.

Episode 3/4: Shades of Time, Space and Piracy - The Doctor and Roger get kidnapped by spatiotemporal pirates… Lots of goofy fun here, probably will have a swordfight between the Doctor and the villain while navigating through the Time Vortex.

Episode 5: Lonely Chemicals - The Doctor and Roger take a little holiday and go to Roger’s town… Just to find it flooded by radiation, a strange gassy fog and some weird Snake-looking creatures lurking in the fog.

Episode 6/7: Secrets of the Dead - The Doctor and Roger land in a Human colony (in the distant future) where a Cyberman invasion happened in the past and they lost, apparently. The Doctor and Roger soon find out that the Cybermen did in fact win and they made it look like they lost the previous battle. Lots of horror here, and some dystopian stuff too.

Episode 8/9/10: Land of the Spirits - The Doctor and Roger meet the mastermind behind this entire season; An insane version of Roger who went mad after his daughter’s demise (He’s a being who is and isn’t). He got control of the web of time and other space-time technology after a rogue Time Lord found him first.

So yeah, here it is. The next season is still being planned and those are some ideas I’ve had recently about original Doctor Who episodes.

SEASON 2:
Episode 1: Doctor Who and the Lost World - The Doctor and Roger arrive at an island lost in time, where Dinosaurs and other creatures roam the land. Here, they find our new companion; Audrey, a former History teacher from the 49th century who got lost in a time expedition and landed on the island.

Episode 2: O tempora, O mores! - A pure historical set in the times of Julius Caesar’s assassination.

Episode 3: Cruel to Be Kind - The Doctor, Roger and Audrey get trapped into William Shakespeare’s Hamlet! Lots of fun stuff here.

Episode 4: The Shapeshifter’s Guide to the Earth - Doctor-lite episode. A friendly deserting Rutan manages to escape to Earth, tries to befriend some Humans and get a job.

Episode 5/6: Candles in the Sand - The Doctor and Co. land in the Silurian era where they meet the Silurians at their finest time. This is something more akin to a political/conspiracy thriller.

Episode 7: There Was a Man Called the Doctor - The Doctor is dead… Or is he?
The Doctor is trapped in a pocket universe’d ghost city, but he must get back to the TARDIS and his companions before he’s trapped in the pocket universe forever…
The ending leads to…

Episode 8/9/10: Masters of the Earth - The Daleks have invaded the Earth while the Doctor was trapped in the pocket universe. Lots of epic and chaotic stuff here.

Well, that’s season 2. What do you guys think so far?

Seems nice! It has a Pure Historical, so that’s always a big plus in my Books. And the Return of the Rutans is lovely as well!

SEASON 3:

Episode 1/2: Venus’ War - The Doctor and Co. arrive at Venus, 10 million years BC - Where a civil war between the people of the planet have ravaged the world to a devastating degree.

Episode 3: Black of the Night - The Doctor, Roger and Audrey arrive at Roger’s town, only to find the Earth without a sun. The Doctor and Roger have a limited time/countdown to find the missing sun before the entire planet freezes to death.

Episode 4/5: The Gate of Life - The Doctor and Co. wake up in front of a huge gate; The Gate of Life - It is said that the gate can resurrect the dead. Roger must face his own demons and abandon his wishes to revive his deceased daughter… But that is easier said than done.

Episode 6: Physician, Heal Thyself - The Doctor reminisces of his past on Gallifrey and his adventures throughout the universe as he and his companions encounter a future version of himself in one of their adventures.

Episode 7/8: Fanfare for the Common Man - Companion departure story. The Daleks have returned and they chased the Doctor through time and space. Roger dies as he saves the Doctor and Audrey. This enrages the Doctor to no end as he proceeds to destroy every Dalek he finds in his way. This prompts Audrey to stay with the Doctor as he could lose himself even further if he’s alone.

Well, I’m considering editing these 3 seasons after I post my Season 4 plans.

Here’s Season 4! This is something more akin to Torchwood: Children of Earth and/or The Trial of a Time Lord.

SEASON 4: Libera Me

PART 1: After the end of the previous season, the Doctor is depressed. But he cannot catch a break as he and Audrey unwittingly enter the Toymaker’s domain and the Doctor plays a game with the latter. The Doctor loses the game and the Toymaker enters inside the former’s mind.

PART 2: The Toymaker takes control of the Doctor’s body and mind. But the Doctor resists the takeover, and inside his mind he fights the Toymaker and his legions with an army of his own. After the imaginary and restless battle, the Doctor defeats the Toymaker in a duel of swords. The defeated Toymaker tries to destroy the Doctor’s mind and everything in it, but the psychologically-devastated Doctor cannot take it anymore and regenerates both inside his mind and outside his body.

PART 3: The New Doctor wakes up to find Audrey looking at him corcened and somewhat frightened, the Doctor reassures her that it is still him, just now blonde and a little younger-looking. However, the two do not have much time as the Toymaker reappears and creates new dimension and realities across his domain.
The Doctor and Audrey get turned into Toy versions of themselves and then get separated. After the Doctor finds Audrey he realizes that the Toymaker took control over Audre’s mind/body.

PART 4: The Doctor tries to release the Toymaker from Audrey’s mind but he fails. But he doesn’t give up as he enters Audrey’s mind; hell bent to save her and destroy the Toymaker once and for all. He manages to release the Toymaker and fulfills his promise to himself as he vanquishes the Toymaker to oblivion with the power of his Time Lord mind plus Audrey’s. After the ordeal ends and the Doctor and Audrey escape safe aboard the TARDIS as the Toymaker’s domain begins to collapse upon itself. The Doctor reassures Audrey that the Toymaker is gone for good.
The season ends with the Doctor’s monologue: “There are moments in our life when oneself can’t go on alone. Nobody wants to be alone, no matter what they say, no matter how they say: Nobody needs to be lonely or to be trapped within oneself. That’s why I travel with companions, to be safe and secure from myself and others.”

That’s it! Perhaps I’ll edit the previous 3 seasons and post a “redux” version. But for now, the adventures continue.

I’ve been wanting to becoming a writer for quite some time now.
And I also thought about how I could write fanfiction of my “Doctor Who showrunner fantasies” or novelise my ideas a la Douglas Adams for my own series of original books.

This would be really cool!

I’d love to read these.

I’d recommend doing that! Gives you a lot of freedom to do whatever you may please, and it’s fun building your own Lore!

Either way excited to see what will come out of it!
