What (else) Are You Reading? - Non-DW

I’ve been reading Heavenly Tyrant - the sequel to Iron Widow (which I adore, with caveats) - on-and-off as a long term project and I’m about 20 odd pages from the end, with plans to finish it today. It’s nowhere near as good as the first I’m afraid, but I am still enjoying it.

Though it has a major bug bear of mine: very slow, methodical pacing for most of the book before going into what feels like a waaaaay too quick climax. Honestly don’t see why it’s 520+ pages long in the first place, let alone having the final act happen in the last 80 or so. Just a bit frustrating when the ending rushes through after I’ve taken so long going through the rest!

Well I finished it just there and tbh I think I disliked the ending

I still recommend the book, because I enjoyed it overall! And hopefully you’ll like the ending more than I did

I just finished Radium Girls by Kate Moore, which is probably the best nonfiction book I’ve read.

I’m now reading One Piece Heroines, and it’s such a nice change of pace reading something light and breezy after reading the long and very political Heavenly Tyrant.

Is that 天竜人? Never read One Piece in English so I’m no familiar with the terms. How come they lost the dragon part during the translation

Oh no sorry, it’s unrelated entirely! It’s the last book I was reading, not at all to do with One Piece

In English, the guys you’re thinking of are called The Celestial Dragons

It’s even weirder knowing they dropped the “human” part
