The obvious ones are Scherzo, Chimes, and Spare Parts. In terms of Torchwood, I like We Always get out Alive, Rhys and Ianto’s Excellent Barbecue, and Coffee.
The Peterloo Massacre is spectacular, but it will make you cry, much like The Sky Man.
Finally, it’d be remiss of me not to mention Torchwood One:Before the Fall, and The War Master: Master of Callous.

The Chimes of Midnight, Master, Call for the Dead, A Quiet Night In, Sins of the Father, Arrangements for War, Spare Parts, Peri and the Piscon Paradox, The Widow’s Assassin, Davros, Seasons of Fear, To the Death, Neverland, Scherzo, The Natural History of Fear, The Rocket Men, Psychodrome, Relative Dimensions, A Death in the Family, Alone, Enemy Lines, The Trouble with Drax, The Holy Terror…

My list just keeps on growing. BF needs to be stopped!

Obviously, all of Robert Shearman, the man is insane and perfect (The Maltese Penguin isn’t real, it’s a conspiracy).

Broken Hearts from Series 7V is a shockingly poignant and utterly stunning play on Wall-e, Broken is a beautiful character drama out of the Torchwood Monthly Range.

I also have a particular fondness for Protect and Survive, Spare Parts, Master, Poker Face, and The End.

There is still so much of Big Finish I haven’t gotten to yet so expect his list to grow.

There are so many Big Finish stories I love to pieces, so I’ll go for the cream of the crop!

  • Fifth Doctor: Creatures of Beauty and Circular Time

  • Sixth Doctor: Doctor Who and the Pirates and The Wormery

I can’t believe I forgot to mention Cascade. Such an innovative story, I strongly recommend it to Tosh fans.

The only thing I remember about Cascade is drawing a particularly green horse. It was back in July and I think I might have been a little distracted. It’s one of my favourites of the 100 I did that month, though.

I imagine most of my all-time favorites would be stories in the main range’s early days. Not that they were good at the beginning and went downhill after, but because a) the level of excitement for a new release was greater and b) they came out slowly enough that one could listen to them and re-listen without other stuff piling up on you.

As I haven’t re-listened to them in all this time, I’m loathe to try to pick out specific ones. But of discs I’ve relistened to this year and rated on the Guide, these are the ones I rated a 5:

Just War
Auld Mortality
Ringpullworld
Find and Replace

And these merited a 4.5:

Deadline
The Grel Escape
Home Truths
The Mahogany Murderers
The Suffering
Shadow of the Past
Solitaire
The Three Companions
The Mists of Time

This not to say the Companion Chronicles are the be-all and end-all of Big Finish output. They’re just the vast bulk of what I’ve re-listened to at this point.
