Not the forum for it, I know, but Licence To Kill is an underrated one! I love the opening half hour of The Living Daylights a ton, but the rest of it is so increasingly dull, Licence is demented but at no point boring. I wish Dalton had done a third in the gap before Goldeneye, they did not maximize his potential!

Remembrance is excellent. I’m not a huge fan of Greatest Show. So of those two, I’d say Remembrance. If you’re only looking at McCoy stories, I’d suggest Happiness Patrol as it’s only three parts.

Off to Amsterdam. Arc of Infinity aka Return of the Tegan, aka JNTs holiday paid for by the BBC.

Listening to the commentary track with Peter Davison (the Doctor), Janet Fielding (Tegan), Sarah Sutton (Nyssa) and Colin Baker (Maxil)

A few highlights for those who haven’t heard these wonderful extras

This is generally a one-time thing, not necessarily trying to make them watch DW after this. I did think about Happiness Patrol too. I was debating on a few other stories as well like The Time Warrior, Pyramids of Mars and City of Death but went to look at the McCoy stories I have because they’re the closest to a more modern show, so to speak.

All three of those are good. City of Death is a lot of fun, actually does something with the time travel aspect of the show, and the dialogue just sings. The Happiness Patrol is very stand-alone, and to my memory doesn’t really require anything else lore-wise to understand. It’s also a great political thriller of a story. (It’s also one of my favorites.)

Honestly I remembered it as being better

Oh no, Knock Knock is next…
Might as well get it over with…

Definitely pouring a whisky to get through

You don’t like Knock Knock?

It’s one of my favourite stories!

I think that has to be my pick for the peak Moffat script, out of so many options, he absolutely went out on top. Final two-parter is like 5/5, and then that extremely sweet little coda special, just a full blaze of glory.

I like it. David Suchet is great.

No, not really.
It’s just sort of, kind of just a little tiny bit… slow and boring…
