Have to admit - for me, it worked really well. Mainly on an emotional level, but the answer to all your questions on a logical level is

:notes: … drum roll, short musical interlude, picture me dancing in the Bavarian woods with the animals of the forest … :notes:

the poor goblins, just like you, could not fathom what that absurd stunt should be and therefore were so perplexed they could not act logically.
(A trope the Doctor uses quite often, I think?)

As I said, Christmas Special Shenanigans
In many ways it mirrors the style and tone of the 10th Doctor’s first story - but centered on the new Doctor rather than an established companion :slightly_smiling_face:
All the Sycorax also just stood around towards the end and did nothing - it’s not realistic but it works on a storytelling level :slightly_smiling_face:

Wasn’t that because he challenged their leader to a duel, and it was about honour etc?

Oh yeah, I guess you are right about that :slightly_smiling_face:
(I don’t particularly like that story so it isn’t as ingrained in my brain )

Just as the unwritten law of the goblin clearly states:
Thou shalt ne’er interrupt a musical performance henceforth. :star_struck:

I’ve been speeding through Mistborn: The Bands of Mourning, only got it a few days ago but I can’t put it down, I’m nearly finished.

(listening to the audiobook, but still)

Started a few more EDAs (not a goof decision since I am already reading The Bodysnatchers and Seeing I simultaneously) and one of which The Taint. I find the firs two chapters enjoyable. And it’s Fitz’s first appearance! Really exciting. Yet TG ratings worries me…

If you’d rather not be worried by other people’s ratings and make your mind up for yourself, there is a setting (in My Account) to hide ratings for anything you’ve not rated yet! :tada:

I’ve found it the best way to come to conclusions about stories myself. No undue influence, and fear of going against the ‘consensus’.

I can’t even begin to get my head around how someone can simultaneously read The Bodyseeing I Snatchers. That’s not something I would want to taint with a third book, that’s for sure!

Just reading what’s clearly the correct canon of Mary Shelly’s inspiration for frankenstein

It amuses me that Mary Shelley is the modern version of classic Who’s Atlantis in that Doctor Who gives her three ‘first’ encounters with the Doctor: The Creative Spark, Mary’s Story and The Haunting of Villa Diodati.

First person to complete the set!

Well done! I was instrumental in getting them added to the site but when I did it, I realised I don’t actually own all of the copies so never read all the strips.

Started on Nightshade today. I don’t know what I expected, but I have to say that this is my cup of tea, and I’ve barely made a dent on the book so far. It’s very hard to put down, though, which is a good sign!

Currently reading Option Lock, as I finished Kursaal at work. Someone on Discord said it’s good, so I have hopes! The EDAs are very…all over the place in quality, but I’ve read a decent chunk of chapter 1 and am enjoying it so far! :sparkles:

I enjoyed Option Lock. Couldn’t get into Kursaal.

Kursaal was very…“filler episode”. Just sorta a stock standard sort of story, nothing too special. Wasn’t a fan of how Sam was written either.

Kursaal absolutely finished me off, it made me put down the EDAs for a while. I’m just about to start Vanderdecken’s Children, and after the last one I’m hoping for something not too boring

I didn’t mind Kursaal, but “filler” is a very good description of it.

I liked the Jax, thought they were a fun take on werewolves, but the rest was just dull.

It was actually the first book I reviewed (I think), way back on that other site we don’t talk about anymore.
