Are the War Doctor audios with John Hurt recommended?
Asking because BBC Sounds has added the first set for free.

I’ve only listened to the first set and remember liking it well enough.
But since it’s available for free there’s no danger in trying it out
I enjoyed them. Mainly for the performances as the character didn’t live up to what I expected them to be like.
Quite a few other releases free on BBC Sounds.
Why does Lady Christina have a spin-off
Echoing this. Hurt is amazing, but the character is a lot more Doctory and the stories a little more standard DW fare than you’d necessarily expect/want
I finished everything I had planned,so no idea what to listen now while waiting for 9das and 13das any recs?
Why does WINSTON CHURCHILL have a spinoff:sob:
I’ll give it a chance if it explores his actual politics and is critical of him (there is zero way it does)
Because the war
they seem to have mostly stopped single character spin off ranges
Yes, UK is still obsessed with WW2.
For ages I thought I hated history and learning about it because at school we only learnt about WWI and WWII and I had zero interest in those
Yep, at school all we basically learned about was military & monarchy.
Ah yes, the two genders
tbh she was quite a popular one off character and also the spin off is actually really good
Hmm idk what you’ve heard maybe pop a message into the recommendation thread though!
I refuse to believe she was ever popular
Bought this one in the Big Finish Easter Sale: Interstitial / Feast of Fear. I went for this one for two reasons, the first being that I enjoy the 5th Doctor range and this one fills a gap. The other reason was that cover, which I think is absolutely gorgeous.
Interstitial was okay for a two-parter, but Feast of Fear was a real let down. I’m not sure why, because the story had all the elements of something special but for some reason the magic didn’t quite happen. Possibly the explanation for what was going on was a little mundane. Maybe it was the guest actors who, on occasion, sounded too similar to one another so that I had trouble telling some of the characters apart (not the first time I’ve had this problem with a BF production lately).
I did like evil Nyssa though. Sarah Sutton makes a really good villain when she gets the chance (see also Timeslip). In another thread, I think someone suggested a What If? Unbound type story where the Master possessed Nyssa rather than Tremas, and given Sarah’s performance in Feast of Fear, I think she could pull off her own incarnation of the Master. At one point in Feast of Fear it looks like Nyssa and Tegan were going to get into a physical fight, and I was disappointed it didn’t quite happen. Shame as I always enjoy Tegan and Adric’s little catfight in Four to Doomsday, lol.
I’m trying to catch up with my BF after not having time to listen to anything over the Easter perios. So, the next Benny audio for Audio Club Extra as well as Planet Krynoid.
I’m two weeks behind on Benny for Audio Club Extra I really need to catch up
