Listening to The Chimes of Midnight this Christmas Eve :christmas_tree:

Following on from The War Games last night, I gave a listen to the Final Beginning from Beyond the War Games. It felt quite mediocre. It was fine, but aside from Raven being a fun new character, it didn’t feel like it offered much.

Listening to Morbius the Mighty which is off to a good start.

On a side note though it’s a bit disappointing that neither The Doctor’s or Morbius’ appearance on the cover match how they’re described in the story.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without The Chimes of Midnight!

I just listened to the first part of Nekromanteia.

By the Ergon’s pointy beak do I not like a witch cackle at the best of times, and there are three more parts of this to go…:hear_no_evil:

After a long couple of days, where I worked and then slept, I have finally consumed some more DW.

I’m about half-way through Spare Parts. I like it so far, and Nyssa isn’t annoying like she’s been in other stories.

I fully agree, she’s a great companion all round.

Haha. Very much NOT what I said.

Listened to Father of the Daleks from The Wintertime Paradox. Found Sophie Aldred’s Dalek and Davros voices a bit too silly and distracting.

Then started Fractures as I’ve got behind in the series.

Continuing with Morbius the Mighty. Enjoying still but Morbius is too similar a villain to the Master for me.

I know whenever I come onto this forum all I do is talk about Faction Paradox, but I recently started the FP protocols series, listening to The Eleven Day Empire today
Some really interesting stuff, and fun to see a lot more complex themes (and swearing lol) from DW media, really excited to get into the rest of the FP audio stuff

Hey, when I come on here I usually talk about DW and spinoff media, so by all means, talk about FP. At least you’re not talking about Star Trek (I’ve done that)!

Started listening to some old BBC Doctor Who audiobooks, The Earth and Beyond collection read by Paul McGann. Listened to the first two: The Bounty and Dead Time.

The Bounty was unfortunately dull for Sam’s first trip in the Tardis. It felt like it was pointless and bland. It did introduce Sam relatively well, but it was all stuff other books also cover.

Dead Time was fun. It didn’t feature Sam as much, but it was a nifty little idea even if the effect used on the Forgotten’s voices was a touch difficult to understand. It was definitely the better of the two.
