Pandora done. Very good stuff. I bloody love Darkel.

The Poison of Peladon next.

More Torchwood Soho: Ascension today. This is the best set in the range yet. Past sets have struggled to give the whole main cast something to do but I think they really nail the dynamic here. Excited to see how it concludes.

Finished “The Last Day - Part Two” yesterday.

Overall The Last Day was really enjoyable, but probably too dependent on knowing the Seventh Doctor’s complete Big Finish odyssey. There were characters and events that I wasn’t familiar with. For instance, it seems like the MR adventure The Quantum Possibility Engine is quite essential to get the full picture.
So I am listening to that one this morning :slightly_smiling_face:

Knowing that it was Narvin who told the Doctor of the Master’s wish for The Doctor to handle his ashes made me unreasonably happy :grinning:

Then I really need someone too add the prerequisites :eyes:

It’s a pretty good scene

But it’s less than 3 minutes of a six hour story

I have watched and listened to many a thing with the promise of a thirty second cameo, I don’t suppose this will be any different :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

It is absolute madness to sit through six hours of The Last Day with too many references from 7th’s BF run for a 3 minutes Narvin cameo. :exploding_head:

I will also find some time for it. Once I finish the latest Gallifrey audios

Madness, maybe, but then I suppose I must be mad  I was going to listen to it eventually anyway tbh but this is just another reason to!

You underline books without a ruler! You’re mad as a hatter!

And I didn’t enjoy The Last Day all that much. Not only because of all the characters and references I didn’t recognise, but also because it was an overlong mess with barely a story, with Seven barely appearing and with the first half spending all its time on recruiting old companions and villains and setting up the pretty underwhelming second part.

But, but if I use a ruler the ones I didn’t get perfect would be so much more obvious! The best place to hide a tree is a forest…

Most reactions I’ve seen to it have been much the same, that it was basically completely underwhelming. I think I’ll save it for a day when I want to listen to something I don’t want to think too hard about

Listening to The Poison of Peladon on the way to work. Alpha Centauri having the hots for River Song was not on my list of things I would listen to today!!

OMG I need to listen to that!

I’d say you’re like Bloody Mary or the Candyman but you only need to say River Song once to summon you…

“The Quantum Possibility Engine” was
cyberman-excellent
Narvin with the Seventh Doctor! I need more of that!

And I needed more Narvin than that, so I am giving the War Master series one more go with season 5, because of Narvin

Listened to the first story “The Edge of Redemption”. One of the better stories in this range for me:
Narvin sends the Master on a mission and to do that he does a “Time Heist” and collects people for the job. Love a good heist :+1:
But it is the guest star cast that are the standouts in this story, in fact the Master is pretty extraneous for most of the story and I think it can be felt in Jacobi’s performance here.

But overall: Narvin + Heist = 4/5 :star: :slightly_smiling_face:
