I have been writing reviews for episodes as I go. About to write one for World War 3, which is last episode I rewatched. Please take a look should you find yourself interested to do so.
This site is an absolute delight. I already liked the features for tracking episodes etc… but this forum has been a little overwhelming with how friendly everyone seems to be. But i’ll take being a little overwhelmed because everyone has been so nice. I’ve always considered Doctor Who to have one of the kindest and friendliest fandoms out there. I’ve been here less than a day and I already think this community more than lives up to my positive feelings of this fandom.
I’m very happy to be here. Hopefully, I should be here for the long haul.
Oh, I love to write reviews myself, and I try to read reviews of stories I’ve reviewed myself when I have the time. I shall definitely check out yours!
We’ve aimed at making this a safe, positive space for all Whovians, and so far we’ve been pretty successful at it. There are loads of people with different backgrounds, preferences, and experiences here, and sometimes opinions clash, but we always remain respectful, which is why it’s so great to discuss everything Who (and beyond—we have many threads about everything from food to travelling, music and gaming to other fandoms, the mug of the day, and so on) on this platform.
I appreciate you checking my reviews out. I’m primarily writing these reviews because I used to have a lot of strong opinions on the show, but since I stopped watching 5 years ago, I couldn’t tell you some of them. For example I said I stopped watching during the Chibnall era. I remember liking Whittaker in the role, but I also remember disliking the show at the time. If anyone asked what I didn’t like, I couldn’t really tell them. I can’t remember what specifically my issues were. I barely remember anything from Series 11 honestly, besides the episode Rosa and the talking frog.
As much as these reviews are primarily for me, it’s always nice to hear feedback and other opinions. Especially as this community does indeed seem to be respectful and well intentioned. I’ll be sure to give your reviews a read as well.
I’m having a quick look through now. I feel like when I’ve the time to have a proper look through this forum, I’m going to wind up spending hours going through it.
I’ll definitely hop back into the TV Club section somewhat soon. I’ll probably be curious to see what other people thought of the episodes as I rewatch them.
I only initially wanted to use it as a resource to track and log my rewatch. Then I started poking around the forum and I lost 2 hours. It’s been fun and I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. I look forward to losing many more hours here in the future.
There’s still a lot of Who to get through before I arrive back in Chibnall land. But, looking through this site has reminded me of some of the stories that I love and that I can’t wait to revisit. Sadly it’s also reminded me of a couple I’m dreading a rewatch of. But there’s not too many thankfully.
I mean surely you do plenty of activities that are ideal for audio and not for video. I can’t just sit in a chair and listen, that’s when my mind wanders. I listen while driving, doing dishes and other chores, mowing lawn and other yard work, and even sometimes on walks.
