Definitely one of my favourite episodes, nothing beats the tragedy of LINDA. Just a shame about what it is that gets them.

I’m always curious when people seem a bit miffed that a personal favourite of theirs is held in less than favourable terms by others…or worse still by an unelected hierarchy of fandom.

Personally, I couldn’t give a flying f#ck if anyone dislikes something I hold dear. At the end of the day, I’m not watching Who for anyone else’s benefit but mine. I don’t seek approval from others for my personal tastes, I watch Who for my enjoyment.

Yes, we all share our takes on things, and if others agree then happy days, but if others don’t…so what. A negative review or a disapproving comment ain’t gonna take the shine of my love for…[insert episode title here].

If you love it, own it. Put your hands in the air like you just don’t care.

Then again, if anyone slags off Inferno…

Love & Monsters was always one that I actually liked up until the reveal of the monster of the week. I thought it was nice for a type of fan group to exist who had just become a kind of group of friends before someone came along to use them for their own ends. It was just the last few minutes that kinda fell apart.

I liked this one but I did have mixed feelings on how it progressed. It started strong, I liked the cast, and I especially liked the way in which the story was told (I’m often a fan of creatively made Doctor-lite episodes). But the Abzorbaloff was too goofy for me and I think the story unraveled as it went on.

That said, I love the enthusiasm some people have for this episode. Reading positive reviews about this, the production notes, and seeing the “making of” video? It’s delightful.

I might not personally get a lot out of the episode but I appreciate the views of those that do.
