I had actually forgotten that I’ve already watched this. It’s pretty forgettable: an interesting experiment of original animated DW, but not very good.

For all its flaws, The Infinite Quest might still hold some charm for younger audiences or dedicated fans curious about this oddball entry in the Doctor Who canon. But for those seeking the depth, wit, and excitement of the series’ best, this quest is one you can safely skip.

Here’s my spoilery review for those who fancy a read. Thanks!

Pretty much made the arbitrary call when watching “all” of Doctor Who that this one didn’t count, along with Dreamland, so haven’t watched it…

(Yes, I’ve watched Shalka and Daleks! but not this.)

I have watched this and remember thinking that it was really boring, but don’t remember anything else. I gave it 2/5, and that is tied for my lowest rating for anything featuring David Tennant. The other thing is the other animated story…

As a light, breezy childrens adventure, this story is absolutely fine. If you’re looking for a little more than that however, ‘The Infinite Quest’ will likely disappoint.

Had this on dvd as a kid - didnt really think much of it then.

The Keys Of Marinus, but better.

Also, Tennant’s performance as ‘Doctor Vile’ is so bloody stupid that it swings back around to being amazing. His own little Soldeed moment.

I quite like this, although I haven’t watched it for years. More Anthony Stuart Head in Doctor Who and some fun locations. I think the problem is, is that it suffers from originally being 5 minute ‘episodes’ as part of Totally Doctor Who so it ends up feeling very disjointed.

I agree that the format doesn’t really lend itself to being watched all as one single episode.

I did think that if I ever rewatched this (or Dreamland) again, I might try and actually just watch one of the shorter parts each day until it was finished. To see if it fits together better when watched as it was originally intended to be watched.

If I do ever rewatch it (which is far from certain) it won’t be for a while however.

I don’t care too much for this one, while a fun idea to have an animated Doctor Who Episode with the OT Actors voicing them here too (I see they were preparing them for Big Finish later :smirk:), I don’t think it’s all that impressive. It’s certainly aimed for much younger viewers, which is fine by itself, but makes this one end up a little bit more forgettable than I’d like it to be.

Similarly, the Animation isn’t particular strong, I much more prefer the Cosgrove Hall Style from Stuff like the Invasion Episodes or Shalka (Pretty sure this had some animators from Cosgrove working on it, but not exactly Cosgrove themselves)

At the end of the Day it’s fine. Maybe a little bland, but fine-ish enough I guess.

Watched this a couple months ago and enjoyed it, I liked what it was going for, but it’s defo not great. I think on a rewatch I will attempt to watch it in segments like it was intended to be viewed.

Maybe a novelisation could improve upon it? Unlikely we’d get one, but there are novelisations of Unmade Sixth Doctor stories and Big Finish now, so its possible!

We will likely get the novelisation before we get the Series 10 soundtrack…

Well, seems like we will be getting that series 10 soundtrack soon …

Now where’s my Infinite Quest novelisation??:eyes:

I believe it when I see it!!!

I gave this a solid 3/5.

It wasn’t special, and it featured Martha (:face_vomiting:), but it was well done, didn’t outstay it’s welcome, and was well animated.

I take you don’t like Martha?

Nope. My least favourite companion in the revival, and that include Adam.

I liked the robot bird, but it wasn’t the best written thing. I watched it a while ago, and it received 2.5/5, a below average score from me.

Soon, I hope.

Just watched this today. The animation is decent, and it answers my cries for a post-42 straightforward Ten/Martha adventure, but the story is nothing to write home about (iirc it was made for CBBC, but it’s pretty weak compared to SJA too…) I had fun regardless, so it gets a 3/5☆.
