Top 3 "Desert Island" candy options?

If you are stranded on a Desert Island, what are your 3 “must bring with you” candies for the island?

For me it’s easy:

  1. Skittles https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skittles_(confectionery)

  2. Licorice All-Sorts Liquorice allsorts - Wikipedia

  3. Chocolate with almonds

What are yours? :grinning:

  2. Twix

I didn’t realize liquorice allsort was a thing! I’ve only ever seen those in the colourful mix by Haribo but always liked them (though sadly they don’t appear to make those vegetarian here so I don’t get them anymore)
My choices:

  1. This specific combination of white and dark chocolate with cocoa splinters but only if I can get the version before they changed their recipe maybe a year ago and made it too soft https://www.schogetten.de/produkte/originals/schogetten-stracciatella/
  2. Kinder bueno chocolate bars. Or Duplo or just regular Kinderriegel I’m not too picky there
  3. Licorice snails? I don’t know if they’re also called snails in English but they are in German, it’s the rolled up ones

Ooooooo, this is a tough one.

  1. Dark chocolate with hazelnuts (though I would need to eat it fast before it melts).
  2. The better Jelly Babies, Cheekies.
  3. Starbursts (Cherry).

First one that comes to mind are Starburst Jelly Beans. I get cravings. Exacerbated, I’m sure, by the fact I only find them in the grocery store around Eastertime.

After that, hmm, Jelly Babies, yeah. But again, that’s partly due to scarcity. They (almost) never appear in US grocery stores, and are so pricy when I see them. BTW, I’m only familiar with Bassett’s. Cheekies is a thing? Hmm…

And for a third…cherry sours? Or maybe just fruit sours for a little more variety.

Now I’m hungry.

Call that a dessert island!

  1. Reese’s cups.
  2. Honey candy. Y’know, w/ the honeycomb & blue on the wrapper? Really, any soft melty candy.
  3. Russian deli style fruit jelly, or any type really of what is called “marmalade” in my region of the world- with only linguistic relation to the sticky paddington spread stuff.

Someone loves Finnish sweets

My pick would be some of the best thigns in the world:

The best chocolate in the world - Fazer Blue

My favourite sour candy - the Fizzy Pop bottle

And a childhood favourite, the candy my grandmother always gave me (Fox Sweets - marmalade with taste of rowan berry. It’s also the oldeet sweet still produced in Finland.

They are very good! I ate them all the time as a kid - they’re dangerous for your teeth and blood sugar :joy: I think they are only sold in Finland, so if you ever visit, you should make sure to buy some. Or I might bring with me some the next time I come to Sweden for pasta

Wow, so many new choices for me to try out! They all sound great! Thanks for sharing!

Is “Jelly Baby” like what we might call a Jelly Bean or a Gummi Bear in the US?

Simply put: YES!

It’s kind of somewhere in between both of those - shaped like a gummy bear but slightly harder, more like really hard jello covered in powdered sugar

if you only ever watch one episode of DW, do it for the Kandyman :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
