Too Much Tennant

I’d be down with that for sure but i’d like other doctors too,can you imagine out of time with 10 and 13

Would be cool but I really hope they stay clear of 10/13 for a bit. He overshadowed her era so much, in her EU content. Not to mention Tennants quite busy rn anyways

I would have to heavily disagree on this. 13 deserves to have a medium of the EU where she’s able to escape from 10’s shadow. It really quite disappointed me the way she was barely allowed to have any EU content to herself.

Tennant’s Doctor was in the Titan crossover comics. Was he in something other than that?

I’m really not sure why this idea that 13 was constantly sharing her EU stories with 10 is so prevalent, but it’s just really not true. Other than the couple Titan crossovers, any story that they’re both in he was either a small cameo or it’s just a story that has like every Doctor

He was a small part in one of the games.

She’s only really gotten away from it until after her era ended. I just don’t like the fact he crops up as often as he did. :man_shrugging:

It doesn’t help that the big multi-media event during 13’s era focused on the 10th Doctor.

I’m really not sure what you mean by this. Like I said the only stories of hers where he’s more than a cameo are the two Titan comics, and maybe Edge of Reality if you count that (though even that is just an added-on bonus chapter for a re-release and not really him sharing the story with her)

Two entire titan runs, every other new who Doctor didn’t have that. The games, TLV, probably more I’m missing.

I do think having a major 13th Doctor thing being marketed by putting 10 on there happening twice is egregious enough honestly… And it’s gonna be hard to convince me that there’s not partially some kind of sexism at play there, because I don’t recall any other Doctor having this.

Bloody hell.

Tennant’s even infected this topic!

Can we have a Tennant free zone please

During the 12th Doctor’s run, we had comics for the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th Doctors. I know that it is a little different with multi-Doctor stories and their own runs, but I think it is always the case that the current Doctor shares the spotlight with their predecessors.

I bet they were worried 13’s EU stories wouldn’t sell as well with just her so added a ‘popular’ doctor… its really disappointing, and insulting, as someone who much prefers 13 over 10.

But those weren’t part of 12’s main comic range. Sure there were crossovers like Supremacy of the Cybermen, but that was outside of 12’s range too. 13’s actual range had two whole volumes with 10.

Yeah, but there is a difference in how it was published. There were no other titles at the time to crossover with. Comics always want to do crossovers.

If he was also in the NSA, I would also complain, but not as it is now.

The perception of TLV as taking the EU spotlight from her is its own thing, I’m moreso just talking about the idea that she was constantly overshadowed by 10 within her own EU stories which I think just doesn’t hold up outside of the Titan crossovers. And I agree that that does seem to be Titan hoping it would boost sales and it really sucks that they didn’t let her have her own year 2, though it does seem like they were sorta flailing given that they restructured and stopped even having individual ranges for each Doctor in between the two stories.

But as far as I understand, A Little Help From My Friends isn’t a crossover. The Tenth Doctor run had ended by that time. It’s a Thirteenth comic where Ten just shows up in. Same with that videogame thing. Ten shows up for a minute just so that they can put him in the marketing next to Thirteen. I don’t think that shows much confidence in her incarnation.

As I said, the difference is that at the time, there were no other comic ranges, but I can see why they still wanted to do multi-doctor stuff. They had no other options than to do it in the comic they had. I don’t think it is that strange.

The game is just strange, but he is hardly in it, and it has much bigger problems than that. Ten is a small part of it.

The irony is that Jodie and David are great friends, so would likely jump at a chance to work together on Doctor Who
