I’ve seen lots of people use tone indicators when writing posts, and didn’t know what they were at first. So in case anyone else isn’t sure, I’ve added little tooltip popups for all the most frequently used tone indicators.
So just put your indicator like normal and it will automatically include a tooltip explanation for anyone who isn’t sure. Example: /hj

What’s a tone indicator?
Tone indicators help indicate the tone and purpose of what is being written. You can use them to tell others that you are joking, being serious, sarcastic or ironic, for instance. They are a help in written communication where it isn’t always clear what the intended meaning of a written sentence is (because we cannot hear or see the person writing the sentence).
