So @Intodrkness and I just ordered tickets for the Timelash and I was wondering if there are any other people who are planning on going. And if there might be interest for the people who are coming and are on here to meet up.
For those of you who don’t know, the Timelash is a German Doctor Who Convention that is going to be happening on October 26th and 27th in Groß-Umstadt. The last couple of times were a lot of fun, so I can only recommend going if you have time and are able to be in the area at the time.
It’s too far afield for me but I’m really glad Timelash exists for the fans across Europe!! Hope everyone going has a good time, I’ve heard great things about it.
I’m thinking of maybe going, considering that it’s actually a distance I can travel, but I’m not sure yet. @Schroedingerswhat@Intodrkness would you maybe be up for answering some of my questions, since you’ve been before if I understood correctly?
Hi! I’m planning on going to Timelash this year. I’m actually coming all the way from Australia and studying in Belgium for a few months so I thought I might as well head over to Germany for a bit while I’m there. I don’t speak German so any advice is welcome. Or if you want to hang out that would be cool too. I can bring Aussie snacks as a peace offering.
Very cool!
We already talked about a meet up with @Jae. I think our own little tardis guide forum gathering would be awesome!
Not speaking German probably won’t be a problem. I know that there are some people from other countries regularly coming to the con and most panels are in English since most star guests come from England. A lot of Germans (at least the younger generations) have at least some rudimentary English skills as well since it’s mandatory at school.
I am looking forward to the end of October more and more!
thanks guys, that sounds like fun! i will brush up on my german anyway haha. i dont know if either you or @Schroedingerswhat have been to timelash before but do you know how the photos/autographs work? are they included in the ticket? (it was quite expensive for a day ticket lol) also I will probably only be there on the saturday, I don’t have the money to go both days.
They aren’t included in the ticket, for star photos you can purchase a piece of paper that basically acts like a ticket to take one of them, and for autographs you can purchase them directly at the tables if I remember correctly.
Wonderful! It’ll be cool to meet up I think. I also doubt you’re going to need to know any German. It’s going to be my first time going, so I’m very excited. Actually just got my tickets today, since I wanted to be sure of my financial situation first.
