He has done it in some Short Trips and an audio novel and it’s not bad. It’s not at the level of his Brig or Third Doctor (which I’ve always thought was better than his Fourth incidentally).
If they did decide to use the Delgado Master then I think Culshaw would be their go-to, but while it’s obvious which voice he’s doing I don’t think it’s a good enough evocation of the character. And so until they can find someone who really can do it, in the same vein as Carley being able to do justice to Hurt’s War Doctor, I think it’d be best to leave it alone…

Culshaw is really good. The audio novel Terror of the Master was really, really good. An excellent final confrontation between Pertwee and Delgado set between Season 10 and 11 that feels like a full-cast audio with narration. I would love for Culshaw to be back more as both the Ainley and Delgado Masters, he does both well. And it’s about time we got some Ainley Master adventures with at least the Fifth and Sixth Doctors.

This is part of the reason why I’m enjoying “Forty 2: The Auton Infinity” so much. It’s well written and a rich story, but hearing Ainley’s Master once again (and opposite Davison) is… wonderful!

Agreed. The two stories in Forty 1 weren’t anything overly outstanding. But Forty 2, that was really, really good.
