The Third Time Someone Has Posted About Their Showrunnner Fantasies

Hi, it’s the thing that’s been done a few times already where someone talks about what they would do if they were in charge of Doctor Who. This is just kind of a rough outline of the 3 seasons I’d do for a Doctor, this is a male Doctor btw.

Season 1
Episode 1: The New Year’s Bang- This is kind of replacing the Eighth Doctor’s movie where the TARDIS crash lands in San Francisco and it almost follows the same plot except I’d probably swap out the Master for a new incarnation of the Meddling Monk/Meddling Nun replacing fireworks with ones laced with some sort of chemical that’ll create a wormhole when launched and power up their TARDIS. It ends with the Doctor leaving San Francisco solo.

Episode 2: Black Friday- The Doctor lands in Blackpool during Black Friday 2024 and finds 7 survivors evading the Autons. It’s just a basic Auton episode. This introduces the first two companions for this Doctor, a mancunian named Guy Beckett and his adopted sister Lucky Beckett who was born in Northern Ireland. Also, I’ll add a companion list at the end of each break down.

Episode 3/4: Heavy Metal + The Resurgence Of The Cybermen- This is a Cyberman two-parter set in 1978, Colchester and 2017, Stretford. These episodes are a sequel to The Invasion where some left over remnants of the Cybermen form back together after a man named Richard ‘Roller Ricky’ Maxwell finds a Cyberman head bobbing in a sewer. Whilst in 2017, some suspiciously Cyber-y phone towers are popping up all over the place. At the end of this, Ricky joins the TARDIS crew.

Episode 5/6: Tip Toe Thru’ The Tulips + Stop And Smell The Roses- This is a two-parter set on a garden planet named Flora and its sister planet Fauna. The TARDIS crew are then recruited by the resident gardeners, or the Swamp Gods, and they discover the planets are actually millennia old sentient beings that are out for revenge after several Swamp Gods have begun poisoning the planets. The Doctor and his companions escape into a vault below the surface, which has every plant ever grown in existence inside of it, and they stop Flora and Fauna.

Episode 7: The Statues Of Hephaestia- This is a story where the TARDIS lands on a planet which has been abandoned for centuries. The planet was once home to a species of art-obsessed cephalopods named the Hephaestians. The obsession began centuries before their destruction when one of them saw a glimpse of a Weeping Angel and then began creating hosts for them accidentally. Earth, however, begins running tours to the planet and the Doctor and his companions have to save a tour bus of visitors from the Angels. Kind of a spiritual successor to Midnight.

Episode 8/9: Snakes And Ladders + The Nightmare Game- In this two-parter, everyone’s favourite Toymaker returns to plague the Doctor again. in the first episode, everyone’s trapped on a giant Snakes and Ladders board but I don’t have any specific plot points for the second episode.

Episode 10: Once Upon A Drax- In this episode, the group land in the Trafford Centre for a well needed rest, only to discover that 7 incarnations of Drax are in the shopping centre and they’re planning their biggest con yet. I’ve not got much for this once apart from I know that there should be a big timey-wimey explosion at the end which leads into the 2-part finale.

Episode 11/12: An Apple A Day + The End Of The End- In the finale, after the big time explosion at the end of Once Upon A Drax, the Celestial Toymaker returns from outside of the universe and gains dominion over time. It’s also revealed that Ricky has been an unwilling and unknowing avatar for the Toymaker but at the end he breaks free and regains the trust of the TARDIS team.

Episode 13 (Festive Special): The Naughty List- The Doctor, Guy, Lucky and Ricky land in early-2000s London after detecting an unusual spike in child disappearances around the festive time. It turns out that a malevolent entity posing as Santa Claus has been taking them and imprisoning them in a pocket dimension to feed off of their life forces. The TARDIS team win and set out into the universe.

Companion List
Guy Beckett: A mid-20s mancunian who joins the TARDIS in Black Friday.
Lucky Beckett: An early-20s Black-Irish woman who is the adopted sister of Guy.
Richard ‘Roller Ricky’ Maxwell: A mid-20s Glaswegian man who is obsessed with roller discos and is actually an avatar for the Celestial Toymaker, but he regains the trust of the Doctor after he helps defeat the Toymaker.
