We use “Doktor” too!

I say “Doktor” , saying “Doctor” while speaking my native language feels weird :sob: Words are similar but there is still a difference with the pronounciation

Yeah but its just Doctor though isn’t it?

Hello I’m the Doctor,

Hello Doctor,

never Hello, The Doctor

I used to be the annoying “the character is called the Doctor, the show is Doctor Who!” type, but then Capaldi was the Doctor and he always says Doctor Who for the character, and Capaldi can do no wrong. Then he even said “I’m Doctor Who” in World Enough and Time, add in the credits for most of classic Who, so you know what, they’re both right. It’s also funny when people get annoyed about it whenever someone calls them “Doctor Who.”

Yeah, I may normally call them the Doctor, but there’s enough evidence either way, and it’s more fun to argue for the “Doctor Who” side of things.

And I love “Doctor Who Is Required!”

The Doctor and the Silurians doesn’t have the same ring to it.

If he’s not called Doctor Who, then why do the audio annuals refer to him as such?

I’ve been unironically been calling both the show and the character Doccy Who for years and I have no intention of stopping :face_with_steam_from_nose:

To be a little more specific:

I use “The Doctor” if I’m doing any like serious discussion about Doctor Who

I use “Doctor Who” when I’m referring to them in a context where it might not be clear that I’m talking about Doctor Who because I’m not going to say “The Doctor from Doctor Who” because I think that’s annoying and pedantic and wrong

I also use it sometimes when I want it to be funnier e.g. “Unfortunately, Dr. Who has stepped on a landmine”

Yeah, if you are in a context where “the Doctor” could mean the Doctor from Voyager, for example, specifying Doctor Who is probably a good idea.
