What makes this a new series and not just a new season of Diary of River Song?

I think it’s mainly the timeframe, now being post-library. The structure also seems to be closer to one story with four chapters, instead of four stories with an overarching arc as in Diary (from what I’ve listened to at least). They probably could have put this in the same series but wanted to rebrand it since a series with 12+ installments can intimidate people.

It’s both a rebrand to not scare away new customers but also definitely a reframing of River Song.
These are her adventures post-Library. After the Doctor. A new era. Interesting!

Tegan is my favourite companion, but here we go again with River meeting characters from the Whoniverse. Maybe it will lead to an Ace & Tegan spin-off? I’d welcome that.

Love that she meets Ace and Tegan.
Love that it seems to be timey-wimey and she meets them when they are younger too.
But the most exciting thing is the mention that this is pre-Power of the Doctor. Hopefully the next set can be either just before or during Power and we can get the River x Thirteen content we need!!!
