The Cat Picture Thread

Here’s a cat who isn’t Wilson to end my Wilsonposting streak. She’s called Tabitha. And she is permanently kitten-sized.

Here is my cat. His name is Ascaris-Cardiac Nexus (don’t Google the meaning, seriously, hah).
He was “helping” me knit the Fourth Doctor’s scarf. Or at least he thought he was helping; in reality, he was mostly getting in the way, but I appreciated his involvement. He really loves that scarf.

He used to be homeless. I took him in after rescuing him from a car engine, where he was hiding to stay warm.

He can fetch a toy like a dog and even knows some commands. No idea where he learned that.
I think he must have lived with people before, but then got lost or something, because when I found him, he was in really bad shape.
Now he has the best life!

Oh, I love to meet new Whovian cats! And it’s so lovely that people take rescue cats and nurse them back to good health, like you’ve done with Ascaris-Cardiac Nexus [1].

  1. that’s too long a name. We need something shorter. I’m going to call him Ace from now on. ↩︎

My mum went out to the pub tonight so it’s just me with the cats. This is Frogmella (full birth name is Frogmella F***face - my mum named her and it had a ring to it, but we just call her Mella at the vets)

She moved out to my Aunt’s across the road but still watches out for me and comes in the house just to see me. And when I move out I’m taking her with me lol.

The kids in the street were kicking a ball around, hence fluffy tail

I’m so glad humanity tamed these guys cuz I can wake up at 3am and just see him staring at me which isn’t creepy at all.

So I’m theorizing that cats stare intently at humans like this for hours at a time because trusted humans give cats uncanny valley vibes, but in a cat way.

You are familiar because you are family, but you are unfamiliar because you are not furry, no whiskers, no pointy ears.

Leading to intense scrutiny.

Like if you were adopted by a family of uncanny valley entities, who love you, cares for you, gives you hugs and treats, you probably wouldn’t feel terrified of them overtime. But you’d still probably stare at the fact they’re not-human. And that’d still probably unnerve you.
