We LOVE a board game in our house. Catan is a family favourite. But the big winner for us is Disney Villainous. We have every add-on, all of Marvel Villainous and Star Wars Villainous and love playing them. There are so many villains I haven’t even played yet because it’s sometimes hard to choose between a favourite and something new.

We’ve got so many other games (although a lot are Disney-themed). Exploding Kittens (with all the add-ons); 80s stuff - Labyrinth the game; The Goonies, Back to the Future (and recently bought the Top Gun game but haven’t played it yet); Pictureka; Taskmaster Board Game; Cranium (lots of that one’s variations); The Crystal Maze; Risk; Carcasonne.

Also love a trip to a board game cafe (although my eldest does like to choose the games with 100 page rule booklets which take 4 hours to set up, let alone play…)

I hate Catan with a burning passion, it’s Civ but more tedious

It’s a great family game - we always enjoy playing it.

If one of your children suggests playing Mao, do not agree

Obligatory play Campaign for North Africa /s

Joking aside, if you’re ever looking for a fun game to play with the whole family, might I suggest Battlestar Galactica, it’s a fun little game where you have to survive obstacles and manage Galactica and the fleet in order to reach Kobal. If that sounds too easy don’t worry, because in every game there is the opportunity that one of the players will in fact be a dirty, frakking Cylon who’s mission is to make sure everyone else has a bad day. Very fun game that is quite difficult at times especially with the expansions.

I’ve actually played Battlestar Galactica once with a dragon I know. Was fun.

I’ve played a fair number of board and card games, really. I own copies of Elder Sign, Mwahahaha!, Munchkin Cthulhu, and several versions of Flux, and technically the Pathfinder card game if I ever get it back, plus a lot of pen and paper RPG books.

I’ve also played a lot of card/board games I don’t own. Dominion, for example…
