It can be fantastic, and it can be boring as f**k, depending on how it is cooked.
I expected that @deltaandthebannermen had not had it. But you?!?!?
You all need to try some tofu, STAT!
Itās probably best at a Japanese restaurant, they know what they are doing!
Donāt think thatās always true since they have Strawberrey Ma-po Tofuā¦ Waht an abomination
Largely tofu is what you make of it. It absorbs the flavor of anything around it, so it can be really good or lousy, depending on how itās cooked.
You can also do things to it to radically change the texture, depending on what you are going for.
One recipe I do remember with tofu is how to make sloppy joes with it.
You take a block of tofu, and throw it in the freezer and freeze it, then take it out, thaw it, and squeeze out all the liquid in the sink. This radically changes the texture of the tofu, and itāll be very crumbly.
Mix that with some sauted onions, and Manwich sauce (or whatever Sloppy Joe sauce you have), and use as a sandwich filling with whatever else you want to put in your sandwich.
Often times I just grill it plain and serve it with rice, though depending on how much effort Iām willing to put in, Iāll marinate it beforehand. Speaking of tofu, has anyone ever had Taho? Iāve always wanted to try it but itās not common here .
You are educating the rest of us with all these interesting foods! Iāve never heard of or seen these, but they look nice!
Sounds like a less flexible version of fika! Fika you can do any time of the day! What are the food things? They look nice!
Just crumpets. Butter + Marmite + Cheese + Grill.
Did not know that you liked Marmite. The more you know!
Please pay attentionā¦
Reminds me of our cheese and Vegemite scrolls that you can get from the bakery
We wanted to cook lunch for my in-laws today and they wanted pasta, so we are making my wifeās famously delicious Bolognese.
Looks amazing, not super familiar with that dish. But the ingredients look darn tasty from āhereā!
Empire biscuits are great
