Taskmaster

I always forget who’s in which series. Before rewatching Series 4, I was sure Noel, Mel and Hugh were much later in the run.

Series 7 (The one with James Acaster) and series 16 (The one with Lucy Beaumont) are probably my favorites, but I love them all and, like I’ve said with other things, I don’t generally do singular favorites. Even as I type this, I’m thinking about series 4, and series 13, and the most recent series 18 which also really enjoyed

I do however have a favorite ever task/attempt: from NZ series 3, episode 9. Without spoiling, it’s the finale to the “Best Friends” saga. The task itself is the perfect short, punchy, shocking, clear, expansive, and creative, and the winning attempt is simply glorious

How do people feel about fan series? There’s loads of them on youtube, and some of them are great

Love Taskmaster, although I never got into last season. I’m much more fond of the earlier Dave seasons. Series 7 and 9 are probably my absolute favourites :envelope:

I agree with you there. I think that that’s my favourite task, although the extension task, specifically Janes Acaster’s reaction to watching it back, in “The Perfect Stuff” is another favourite of mine.

Kerry Godliman is another favourite contestant of mine. I didn’t really know Phil Wang before the show, but think he’s hilarious.

I really liked Frankie and Ivo’s dynamic during team tasks as the hateful father/son duo

If it’s one thing i really like about TM is i find that the comedians i’d never heard of are often the funniest

I loved the early series. It’s a shame that they were so much shorter as I feel like we missed out on having as much time with their casts. It would be great to have some of them back on the show.

A TM all stars would be fun

We have champion of champions, why not a loser of losers

Those who only got 5-6 episodes were robbed (always thought it was strange that S1 got 6 episodes but then S2 and S3 only had 5 each, but oh well). There have been times where I’ve felt 10 is too many though. I think 8 would be the sweet spot, IMO.

I’m inclined to agree. I think 8 is ideal for binge-watching, but when going for an episode a week, I prefer 10, if only so that there’s more to look forward to when it becomes the highlight of the week, but admittedly that’s not based upon any artistic argument.

We need more mediocre contestants back for sure! The champions weren’t always the most entertaining.

I’d love to see the 4th, 8th, 10th and 13th doctors on it, as well as Donna Noble
