Hydrogen bomb vs crying baby.

I wouldn’t say quite that extreme, as someone who likes Tsuranga more than most, and Pilot less than most. But I’d still say it’s The Pilot here.

Yeah, you’re probably right. But I do think there are multiple leagues of quality between the two stories. Its no contest

Probably true, and there’s nearly a 100 place difference between them in my rankings.

Now, if The Pilot had Destiny-era Daleks in it…

I kid a little, as it doesn’t really matter. But if they didn’t really redesign the Movellans for the cameo bit, why wouldn’t they have the Dalek match?

I do mostly like Tsuranga, but The Pilot is rather easily the best companion introduction episode in new Who for me.

easily the pilot, one of the finest series openers

Never really understood the hype about The Pilot. Kind of pedestrian and mediocre. Tsuranga is nothing profound but it’s fun.

I’m not sure what it is about The Pilot that just doesn’t quite work for me as well as it does for so many. I think the main thing is that the story with the puddle and Heather just doesn’t quite grip me. Even though everything they do with introducing Bill is very good and well done, and all of the “this is a starting point” stuff is competently and naturally done within the writing. Maybe part of it is the complete change in vibe compared to say, Series 9, a season I like significantly more than 10. Maybe part of it is still not quite being over the loss of Clara. It’s a good episode, but I’m just not wowed by it, if you get me. Except that TARDIS reveal scene, absolute cinema.

I actually really like Tsuranga, buut yeah no way it can beat The Pilot

Once again it’s a toss up. I think both stories are likable but average fair. I gave it to 13’s episode as I figured it would be the underdog of the match, given the majority on the forum tends to favor Capladi’s era on the whole.

It’s kind of amusing how when I’m counting votes, when I get to some names I just default look at whichever story is losing.

On a similar note, when I see that one of a few certain people posted in this thread I know I’m about to read why the story I didn’t choose is better than the one I did (which, in fairness, is much more interesting than reading something that agrees with my opinion).

I haven’t actually seen Revolution of the Daleks but it would be extremely difficult for it to rank lower for me than The Crusade. Quite possibly my least favorite serial and an absolute slog to get through.

I can’t yet vote in this one and I doubt I’ll be able to even with the extended window of opportunity, which is something of a shame. I’m certainly in something of a minority, but I rather enjoyed ‘The Crusade’ as a piece of drama. I think it has some of the best performances in a historical from that era and is all the better for its brilliant supporting cast. It’ll be a shame to see it go out to a Dalek story…

Yeah, The Crusade is an actual banger, and I’d be disappointed to see it go out to Temu Remembrance of the Daleks.

I don’t remember which “R of the Daleks” Revolution is. But like Reign of Terror I find The Crusade to be an absolute nothign burger except The Doctor doesn’t ware a funny hat. Sure half of it is missing, but the existing episodes aren’t much better.

Edit: Alright I looked it up and it is the 13 one and I actualy gave both 1/5 stars. However at least Revolution makes me feel something

I’m actually surprised that the poll is evenly split. I thought The Crusade was regarded as a classic. It certainly is for me, hence the vote for it.

As for Revolution, it’s not bad but I think it’s the weaker Dalek story for the 13th.
