Well, that’s just RTD building up hype. Doesn’t say anything about the leaks. I mean, Ep 6 could feature a cameo from Englebert Humperdinck, King Charles, or David Tennant, or it could see the return of the Daleks to the Cybermen, and it would have people talking.
Also, I don’t understand why we are so averse to Ep 3 possibly being a sequel to Midnight. So? Does it really matter if it’s a really good episode and a really good story (it sounds like it is to me!).

True it is building hype but those eps are supposedly the big reveals.
I’m not against a sequel so long as it doesn’t ruin the original, BF have done loads of sequels I’ve enjoyed. It’s more worrying that if it’s looking likely, which it is, then the other leaks could be true, which would be a shame.

Those two episodes are speculated to be ones with reveals as per the leak. It’s sadly looking more and more likely each day. It’s a shame for the cast and crew this keeps happening, and the fact it came from some right wing idiot no less.

For me, I’ve never known a sequel to ruin the original. If it’s bad then it only ruins itself. If an original is as stellar as Midnight is then any sequel can’t touch its quality. If The Well sucks (and it might not) then Midnight will still be the amazing story it has been for the last 17 years.
I do understand the desire for it to remain standing alone as it has done for that long but it won’t be tarnished for me if The Well is a letdown, only The Well will be.

Yes, but even if those have big reveals, the big reveals could be literally anything. They don’t have to be exactly what the leaks say. They could be, they might be, but they don’t have to be.

I agree with this. For me, it is more that more lore is not always better, and I am a bit sceptical about a sequel because I feel like the sequel would be hard to make good. For me, the Weeping Angels have suffered from this, where they are never as good as they were in Blink.
But if RTD has an idea for a sequel that he believes in, I am all for it.

Here’s my hot take, I think it’s NOT a sequel to Midnight but a PREQUEL.
They are mining the planet for diamonds, everyone gets murdered by the entity, then the planet is left alone for a hundred years until everyone forgot what happens there, and someone builds a luxury resort there.

Also I think it’s funny that it’s often the same people who have these two conflicting views:
- Midnight is a really good story because we never find out the origin of the creature, and explaining more would ruin it
- 73 Yards is a bad story because we never find out the origin of the creature and explaining more would improve it
