As the title suggests, get your speculations and theories on the future of the Whoniverse off of your chest here :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ll go first.
What if Mrs Flood is the Boss that both Beep the Meep and Rogue has mentioned?

My speculation:

I think we will see Season 2/15/41 next year!

I think the Doctor will be played by Ncuti Gatwa and the companion(s) by Varada Sethu and Millie Gibson.

I think there will be 8 episodes and a Christmas special.

Remember, you read it here first! Give me credit when I’m proved right!

Whoa whoa! Let’s reign in those rather unhinged speculations there :flushed: Be realistic! :eyes:

We had the Mara teased last Season as on the Pantheon, I’d love to see the Mara return next season (and Tegan of course).

I truly can’t believe that Russell would miss out Fenric from the Pantheon, considering he was already the most eldritch and unknown villain in Doctor Who and would’ve fit in perfectly to the roster.

So he has to address it at some point, right? Maybe even bring Fenric back? Please?

Not to be negative, but after what RTD did with Sutekh I would much, much rather that he left Fenric well alone and let him just sit there with his one perfect episode in the late eighties…

Yeah, I just really want more Fenric.

Gods and Monsters was disappointing

Can’t even really remember Gods and Monsters honestly, which is not a good sign

Fenric was an amazing villain! And just the atmosphere of that story was so perfect!
One of my absolute favourites from the McCoy years :slightly_smiling_face:

Feeling a little bit burned from last season, I speculate we will get some amazing episodes, some fun ones, and probably I will be able to enjoy every one of them (okay, most of them) individually for what they are. I trust RTD to deliver on that.

Regarding the bigger throughline, I assume everything will be explainable after the fact. Maybe with stuff that was presented in the forefront. Maybe with stuff that seemed unlikely because of the stuff in the forefront. A little bit arbitrary, not necessarily fully logical.

So, Mrs. Flood being Fenric and Fenric, in truth, being the valeyard persona of the Doctor. I think I nailed it.

Okay, predictions:

Joy gets to be the Doctor’s temporary companion for “Joy to the World”, which’ll be otherwise companionless. She either dies or doesn’t go with the Doctor at the end.

“Joy to the World” has a bullfrog and/or a character named Jeremiah. Bonus points if Jeremiah is a bullfrog.

Varada’s character gets introduced in the first episode of season 2 (though I suppose Joy to the World is a possibility). She is now the main companion, and Ruby’s just occasionally in episodes as a secondary companion, now filling the K9/Mickey/Jack Harkness role.

Ruby dies or something equivalent. If it’s in a Moffatt episode, it gets reversed afterwards.

Mrs. Flood tries to take over the universe, and tries to get the Doctor as an ally, before facing him as an opponent. This might be around when Ruby gets taken out.

There will be at least one Dalek in season 2 (or possibly “Joy to the World”).

Susan gets mentioned at least once in season 2. So does Tecteun.

The Doctor gets fatally injured in the first episode of season 3, but manages to drag out the regeneration for the whole season. (He gets poisoned and/or lasered.)

The universe gets reset to having gravity, not having Fluxx damage, and being sciency again in season 3.

Most of season 2 and 3 will be written by RTD. There will be less than 6 other writers between season 2 and 3.

Most of that seems very realistic :+1: Sadly so with regards to writers (10 out of 12 episodes written by the showrunner in the last year was a bit excessive in my opinion)

Think Moffat learned that from RTD honestly

I’ll admit there are spots where I was pretty much taking things I already saw happening and pushing them farther. (I’m half joking about how long the regeneration’ll take, but only half. )

And yeah, it could be reversed without Moffatt, he’s just done it a lot.

An older alternate universe Adric who didn’t die is revealed to be the Big Boss.

As it turns out, he’s been manipulating the universe with Block Transfer Computation…

Oh I would love that!

“I was right!”

Currently, no Star of Mathematical Excellence badge is available in the forum? :scream_cat:
I speculate @shauny will finally add one when (not if) Adric comes back.
Looking forward to it.

I predict that Susan will come back. The whole Susan Twist tease can’t have been for nothing, right?

Mrs Flood is some kind of God of Stories, and that is the reason for the fourth wall breaking.

There will be more gods next season.

I think it will culminate in the Doctor doing something to put the gods “back in their box” at the end of Season 2.

Whilst I really hope he stays for longer, I predict Ncuti will regenerate in the Christmas episode that airs after season 3.

I predict there will be a crossover with The War Between the Land and Sea in Season 3. Either the Doctor will pop up in that show at the end, or Russell Tovey will be at UNIT in Doctor Who.

Okay, my main speculation is that the Valeyard will come back. In any form, maybe in a form of politician (thinking about ‘Years and Years’ and Russel T. Davies work in general, cause evil politicians at this point look like recurring motive in his work), maybe in form of Matt Smith (wishful thinking on my side, I know). I just think that it would be logical to show Doctor’s greatest enemy (after god of death Sutekh): his own hatred to himself (cause to me Valeyard is not just ‘evil Doctor’ but perhaps ‘the Doctor who betrayed his own principles’). Also: vampires could come back, Fenric could come back, Gods of Ragnorok could come back, maybe (now I return to heavy wishful thinking) version of the Doctor who became Merlin could come back (maybe to show the ‘good’ side of the Doctor as opposed to the ‘bad Valeyard’ side). And yeah, this is probably speculation for series three, cause I think the main villain of the second season will be Ms. Flood who is some kind of God of Stories. Then, in this third season Doctor will at some point understand that something is wrong and say ‘gravity’. After that, the whole Whoniverse gets rebooted, and all of these ‘eternal Gods’ go away. The show become more science-y again. That’s all

It’s revealed that the Curse of Fatal Death is indeed canon… but is set in the universe “Pete’s World” is in.

(Okay, maybe more of a bizarre idea then speculation, but close enough.)
