Iplayer’s most heinous crime is of course saying ‘Doctor Who (1963-1996)’, which implies the show was on air from 1989-96.

iPlayer has The Five Doctors on its own, but it’s on the Season 20 blu-ray. I’m writing a stern letter. This is madness. I won’t stand for it.

Schrodinger’s Christmas Special? It’s in both Series 1 and 2 unless you look at a specific source?

God, I love that under-used all too brief version of the classic logo.

Look how beautiful it is when animated!

I particularly love the S1 art.

In fact even though I know its heresy I use all this art style for consistency on Plex, even the ones that have the lovely Lee Binding art.

I quite like the idea of a catch-all ‘Specials’ category - that way they can all be listed under one logo/picture, and it eliminates the confusion over Xmas/New Year’s/2009/10/etc. You could even fold some Classic stuff into that for those Wilderness Years releases, as well as the Tennant animations, etc. That way, any and all televised episodes not clearly part of a Season/Series can share the same home.

If someone wanted to do even more creative work, they could have separate TARDIS images with the Doctor(s) involved peeking/stepping out to show us just whose special it is.

And if someone wanted to do even more work, they could create images for each of the audio/book/comic lines that are in a similar style in order to standardize those, too (I’m still at the very beginning of the list so haven’t checked to see what the photos for the other media are currently). Imagine having a steelbook-style image of Bernice Summerfield or The Daleks or whomever with a logo to match gracing their entries.

Anyway, just a thought.
