Awesome work
I do already use photos for the Set images, but these are different because they are square:
Search for “series” or “season”:
We would also need a matching one that is just for “Doctor Who Specials”, like this one we have now, on Christmas specials:
Maybe something more generic than all the characters, so it doesn’t need replacing in future? I dunno.
Was gonna say would it not be worth just having it be the series it belongs to, but realise not everyone agrees on that
Specials don’t belong to any series. And even if you try to shoehorn them in, there are some specials that just don’t fit.
Each to their own, I disagree
I can work with those still Just applying the text and logo.
Perhaps a Christmas TARDIS image? I know they aren’t all Christmas related, but a majority are. Or perhaps just a simple TARDIS image?
I agree it is easier to give Specials their own category, but if we did assign them to series my usual logic is to go by iPlayer categorisation. Since those are assigned to series.
What series is The Waters of Mars? Legend of the Sea Devils? The Power of the Doctor?
Another image I use on Plex, which organises Specials as a separate category.
2009 specials, 2023 specials! They both have steelbooks named as such

By iPlayer categorisation, Series 4 has 17 stories.
And Sea Devils and Power would be S13 on here too.
So specials belong to a series unless there’s a special series of specials?
Well they’re unique because its a year of specials, where as the Christmas special is an addition to the previous series! At least to me.
That’s more to do with the inflexible way iPlayer categorises anything than any official word from BBC.
I think we can all agree that Waters of Mars is not part of Series 4.
Yes. And then The End of Time is part of the 2009 Specials and the 2010 Special/s.
Simple, really.

Personally I actually do aha, but again I’m not really advocating for or against.
I made a generic specials image here. With the TARDIS png that no one could run away from once upon a time.
I’m telling you, there are so many weird one-off cases and contractions in categorising Doctor Who that making this website has sent me a little bit crazy.
