Saved/Custom List on Homepage

The feature: Add customizable list or display Saved List entries on the homepage.

Description:

I realize this goes against the philosophy of set tracking, but I often don’t want to read/listen/watch a whole set and do individual stories, so the story tracker isn’t always relevant. I need a visual reminder to watch specific things. Example, right now I am doing The Endless Song in Tenth Doctor Year 2 (3 comics): I can’t use the set tracker because I don’t want to track The Tenth Doctor - Titan Comics set.

What We Have: Right now, you can go to “My Stories” and select “Saved” but that’s a step too many, wouldn’t it be great to see a customizable list directly on our homepage?

What Would Be Ideal: Having an area you can add you can add like a widget to display saved stories or custom lists in a normal grid form would be nice (and the ability to control how many items are displayed). So it could be like Story Tracker in list form, or a grid form akin to Latest Releases/Latest Collectables.

I imagine it can be opt in like much of the home page selection:

Anyhow, it’s just an idea, if there’s already a way to do it and I’m missing it, let me know. If not, I do think it’ll be worth it.

Don’t playlists solve this problem? Because you can add any story to a playlist and the track it like a set

They can in that they’re customizable, so definitely. But I don’t think they can be directly viewed onto the homepage like one of the widgets.

Ooh fantastic idea! I’d love a handy way to browse my saved stories list in like a widget, as often I use it as a reminder to myself to check a story out!

You can’t have them in a separate widget, but if you’re tracking them they show up alongside the regular sets in your next story

Ok so I’m trying to do that now.

I made a private playlist my 3 comics. I then track my own playlist (because that’s your point and it’s a strong one, so I hope I understand it correctly), then I see the entries come up on My Story Tracker.

Yes, it technically does the same thing (top entry). Except I can’t see all entries at once like a grid (like we can with collections and story releases). But I do see your point, it is tracking it as though it were a set of its own.

I just figure an optional display widget for a customizable list would be a lot easier, conceptually simple, and display more info.

I mean, if there is demand for it, it might be a good idea! I just find that for my purposes having two clicks to go to my saved stories or a playlist really doesn’t impede functionality. And most of my saved stories are in fact part of a playlist or character I have saved on there already. I do also prefer my homepage less cluttered, but that’s why we can customize it

Ooh yeah I could use this! I have a playlist of starting points of series I want to get into/have on pause. Being able to see that playlist on the homepage (laid out like the Latest Releases) and see all/some of them at a glance would be nice to keep them top of mind.

Tracking the playlist doesn’t really work because I’m not picking them up in order of that playlist, so I don’t want just the first on the list showing. Also I try to keep my tracked sets to a minimum, so anything on pause for too long gets tossed back onto the playlist. Re-tracking the playlist defeats the point.

It’s not burdensome to get to the playlist when I want to start something new, but having the option to see it on the homepage would be neat!
