NO!!!
Just think, a badge where you need to rate all of Ian Beale’s 3619 appearances!
Yes!!!
(It’s going to happen. I’ll wear him down eventually).
Hope your campaign succeeds! I’ve been meaning to watch Blake’s 7 but never quite got around to. If it’s on TG then we’ll have to watch it, right?
Okay. What is your pitch? Why should we add it?
For the 1000th time - it exists in the same universe. The character of Carnell from the episode Weapon is in the PDA Corpse Marker and the Kaldor City audio series which is, of course, spun off from The Robots of Death.
Then we should treat it as Thunderbirds and add just that episode?
I have read a bit about it now (read the B7 page on the TARDIS Wiki). To me, it sounds like we should add the episode “Weapon” but not the whole series.
The B7 wiki does not mention any on screen DW connections
And just like TARDIS wiki - they are often wrong…
But why should we add all episodes of B7 if we did not add all Xmen or Thunderbirds?
Wake me up when every episode of Eastenders gets added.
You could argue Kaldor City is equally a Blake’s 7 spinoff…
B7, to be at least, sits in the same place as something like The Stranger
There’s technically no connections, but later stories that are spin-offs of who have included characters from it (Kalador City and PROBE Case Files respectively), it has the vibe of Doctor Who, and there’s references to the series in DW’s extended universe
X-Men and Thunderbirds in contrast have completely different tone, and exist in universes that very much don’t work melding with DW’s own
(I’d also put Quatermass in this category, though it would be odd to have the earliest story on the site not be An Unearthly Child
This is where it gets complicated.
The short story in the 2025 Annual is an adaptation of Destination Skaro.
The same one included in Fleeting Faces…
Also, you should definitely add Alien Babies!
Jamie Smart is a legend
@shauny then we only need to add this for the 2025 annual
I can make a sheet on Monday or can you just import it?
You have still not convinced me that anything beyond one episode should be added. That they are the same vibe is not enough to convince me. Star Trek is also the same vibe and they have a much stronger cross-over than DW and B7 but I don’t think that we should add that.
I do think that we should add that one episode but to me, the rest of the series falls under the same category as the BF non-Who catalogue. Not relevant for the TG but almost, and it could be an add-on or something when the next guides come.
Ooh Hard Disagree on Star Trek having the same vibe as Doctor Who! But that’s a discussion for another thread.
I will just say I’m not 100% serious about B7 going on the site but the other element which raises B7 above a lot of other potential ‘crossovers’ is the fact that B7 and Doctor Who were both BBC sci fi shows being made in the 1970s and they shared a lot of the same production personnel - directors, writers, special effects, costume, music etc - and cast. The bond between them is much stronger than a lot of other shows.
Will this be added? I can’t find it on the site.
