Rate your least favourite series' episodes!

How would you rate Series 1 - 14’s episodes, you don’t have to rate them all but I would pick your least favourite series and rate the episodes that way (some gems are hidden among the bad ones like Kerblam inbetween the mess that is Series 11). Here’s mine for Series 12 (I hate this series with all my heart):

  5. New Earth

I’ll be honest, now I’ve been rewatching, I find Rose and Clara (only in series 7B) really irritating.

As much as I don’t want to contribute to the endless anti-Chibnall/Whittaker sentiment that’s out there, Series 11 is still my least favorite of the first 13 revival series. I just find it so dull aside from a few episodes, and as much as I appreciate its attempt to be a fresh start and try to do something different, I just don’t enjoy watching it as much as any of the other 12. Dishonorable mentions to Series 2 and 7 which just beat out this one.

I have a hard time choosing between seasons 11 and 13 but according to my ratings on the site 13 is my lowest rated season. From best to worst:

  1. Village of the Angels
  2. War of the Sontarans
  3. The Halloween Apocalypse
  4. Survivors of the Flux
  5. The Vanquishers
  6. Once, Upon Time

I find Village Of The Angels really good actually and if I was to list my top 5 13 episodes it would go something like:

  1. Kerblam
  2. Village Of The Angels
  3. Spyfall Part 1 + 2
  4. The Haunting Of Villa Diodati
  5. Resolution

It is the only good episode of season 13. I would say that Kerblam is my least favourite episode with 13.

For fun, classic Who too. Season 22 just hurts me to see the writing quality where it was. Saward’s attempts to sabotage Colin Baker, and the essential driving of classic Who into the ground just make this season borderline intolerable. My top pick only scrapes a 6/10 from me.

Ok well series 2 is my lowest rated overall, at 3.11, so here goes:

  • The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit (By Coldstream’s Teeth it’s good!)
  • Army of Ghosts/Doomsday (has its faults, but not as bad as the rest of the series)
  • The Girl in the Fireplace (I found it uninteresting, but an alright story)
  • Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel (You’ve got to admit, this is a very cool two-parter)
  • School Reunion (Don’t remember much)
  • The Idiot’s Lantern (One I enjoyed quite a bit on first watch)
  • New Earth (Not as bad as people say, but it’s bad)
  • Tooth and Claw (Badder)
  • Love and Monsters (Maybe it deserves a rewatch?)
  • Fear Her (Bleurgh)

This is almost a perfect episode. Unfortunately, the writer did not manage to write a good ending. If the last 10 minutes would have been as good as the build-up it could have been one of the best episodes of the show. Now it is only above avrage. It almost makes me angry when I think about it.

I wounder who the writer is and if he has written anything more that is just a good build-up and no consequences…

The reason the ending is poorly executed and rushed is apparently because the actor playing the Shakri guy was causing a lot of problems.

(Correct me if I’m wrong)
