Fine… My edition of AHistory is saying 2040, give or take however long you think T-Mat went on for, which the book comfortably puts at 10 years, but considering the almost-collapse of things when a certain mathematic algorithm made it into the mainstream (and a heavy sprinkling of mistrust on top) a few years back, I might even be able to believe T-Mat was around for 6 years or less.
And the book proudly dates this to close enough to the K9 series that Professor Gryffen could have taken a T-Mat. Or that the T-Mat was how he and his family got to the destination where his family disappeared into time/space.
A few pages later it implies that Courtney Woods is responsible for the fall of the United States though, so…
Works well with both the K9 series and The Department, being seemingly private security turned police state government, operating around there, however.
Oh and I forgot, a few pages after, they talk about Rani’s flashforward in Mad Woman In The Attic, implying that she was living in Department-era Britain.
(Of course, this is taking for granted how the differing potential outcomes of Kill The Moon would have been factors in the Department’s rise to power.)
Sadly the real Doctor is in the cold open, otherwise I think it would take the record!
A slightly different record is ‘how long before the Doctor leaves the TARDIS’? Several Colin stories are in the running for that one—there are lots of extended TARDIS scenes in that era.
Similarly, how it takes over 45 minutes for Six and Peri to actually “become one” with the action in Revelation of the Daleks. I love that, and I’m surprised so many don’t considering CW is always hyped for its supposed “slower pace that allows for character-building and worldbuilding”.
Question for those familiar with the recent First Doctor Adventures boxsets featuring Maureen O’Brien and Peter Purves - is there any indication of whether Fugitive of the Daleks and The Living Darkness take place before or after the Tales of the TARDIS version of The Time Meddler, from Vicki and Steven’s perspectives? Trying to figure out whether to do the latter story before or after the first two.
From what I recall, the Memory TARDIS made fake versions. So, after all their travels are done, I’d assume, provided 1 doesn’t suddenly get memory loss in the last boxset and remembers them into the current era.
