Poll: Which emojis would you add as a reaction?

Just out of curiosity, if you were going to add any of these emojis as one you could use as a reaction on a post, which would you add (up to 5!).

I don’t like any of these, sorry. If I had to choose one it would be the last one with the tear.

Well, it’s basically every Doctor Who themed emoji we have on the site right now, aside from the ones already used as reaction emojis… (Plus the tear one.)

I never understand what the DW reactions (the TARDIS and K9) are supposed to mean, and the ones in this poll definitely don’t convey any real emotion (to me) like regular emoticons do. I think the thinking emoticon and other “face” emoticons that convey emotions we don’t currently have should be the priority.

K9 can mean “Affirmative!” or it can mean I’m putting a cute robot dog on your post.
The pink TARDIS sometimes means LGBTQIA+, and sometimes means “Happiness Will Prevail!”.
The regular TARDIS can be a bit timey-wimey, I’ll admit…

K9 can mean “Affirmative!”

Is that what people mean when they use it??? I’ve had no idea this entire time.

Sometimes, though there’s a fair amount of “cute robot dog” in there, too, especially if is being talked about.

I may or may not occasionally use it as a reference to Mickey in ‘School Reunion,’ but meant in a lighthearted, gently teasing fashion…

I think the majority of those emojis are too small to even see what they are and too difficult to understand the meaning of.

I used to add reaction to a chat when @deltaandthebannermen was being cheeky but mostly use now.

I use or just to say “yay Doctor Who” or “gay Doctor Who”.

I don’t know why I use but sometimes it’s just cute.

We have these discussions a lot, it’s useful to shake things up every now and then. My current thinking:

can be seen as passive-aggressive but equally I don’t know any icon that could mean “I disagree” that won’t be called that.

I know some people think this is also passive aggressive but I often use it to say a quick “yes” if someone asks a question.

I’d be happy to swap with because it’s less dramatic and more sad.

What about or for disagree? I just went through the list and those were the only ones that stood out to me. Alternatively . But like shauny said, anything can be construed as passive aggressive.

Personally I would like a for when I don’t like my favourite characters are suffering. And for “please big finish give me more the Rani and that CIA spinoff I so deeply desire”

Sometimes I think it would be good if it was like Discord and you can just put any emoji, but actually that might just be chaos.

I do like the limited emojis, I honestly think it helps them have a clearer meaning in my head (although I do find myself having to code-switch a little when talking to people not on this side because they won’t have the specific meaning I’m trying to convey)

I’m just pleased someone took the time to not only read my post, but to react to it, as well; so you could probably throw any old emoji on stuff I say and I’d be cool with it.
