Philip Hinchcliffe Era Bracket Tournament

Sure, I can buy that assessment. Still lots of goodness to be found, just with slight lapses in judgment occasionally.

I own a book all about the Hinchcliffe Era

Genesis wins out very easily over Revenge for me - I don’t dislike Revenge, but Genesis is Genesis :man_shrugging:

Invasion is the only Hinchcliffe story I haven’t seen, so it isn’t really fair for me to vote for Pyramids, but I like voting and there’s nothing stopping me, so Pyramids it is :smiling_face_with_horns:

Two pretty easy decisions for me - when we get to the season 14 stories, it’ll get harder for me to choose.

We’ve done two from Season 14 already. They both lost. But the remaining four will show up over the next two days. Interestingly enough, Season 14 is the only season of the three that didn’t have any matches only within that season in the first round, they’re all matched against one of a different season. And both the matches today are contained within their respective seasons, the only two same-season matches. Funny how the seeds and RNG turned out.

There’s actually no rule that says you have to have seen both in a match to vote, you can vote however you like. But, if someone is more comfortable abstaining when they haven’t seen either or both, that’s cool too.

Revenge v Genesis is a coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb situation if I’ve ever seen one lol

Thanks, I just had a look. I think at the end of the day, I don’t mind too much, because you hit the nail on the head earlier in the thread - the Hinchcliffe era is so strong overall, I can understand how pretty much any episode could win out over another. I do think Masque and Face are probably the two weakest season 14 stories as well - IMO, the latter three serials are the strongest (it’s been a while since I watched Hand of Fear).

The voting comment was mostly just me being cheeky - I could see Pyramids was comfortably winning anyway. If it was more even, I probably would have abstained. I’ve seen all the other Hinchcliffe serials, so I can get stuck in without fear now that Android Invasion is likely going out.

Genesis and Pyramids my beloved

Revenge of the Cybermen had an unfortunate accident with a glitter gun, orchestrated by Genesis of the Daleks, the score 18-3.

Pyramids of Mars violently defeats The Android Invasion with its own biological weapon, 17-3.

Those were a couple of landslides, perhaps expected. Maybe we’ll see something different in the next two First Round matches.

I know which one will be closest here, and I’m pretty sure I know why.

Actually, it’s more of a sweep against it than I expected.

I mean Robots of Death. Come on. Planet of Evil is fine but you cannot beat this:

This message needs 12 characters. They should all be Toos.

All right Terrance, I think that’s enough writing for you today.

But is he wrong?

Most of the time it’s still the one that comes up first if you look things up.

I must rewatch Robots of Death. And think about what would happen if Leela and Rachel met

I always have to replace the .fandom.com with .wiki to get onto the better site :sob:
