PalindromeRose Review Archive

Considering I penned a massive paragraph announcing my departure, you might be a little bit confused here. Here’s the situation - all of my reviews were written in bulk, so I had around 13 sitting on my hard drive still.

I decided - considering I know a good few people enjoyed my work - that I should upload them before I go.

And hey, if I decide to eventually come back, I’ll have my own review thread here to post to (and it means my reviews wont be clogging up the forum in individual posts - sorry about that).

I’ll be online for a couple hours today whilst I upload said reviews, so feel free to come say hi and give 'em a read. Then I will be going back to my self-imposed hibernation, bla, bla, you get the idea.

Hope you all enjoy the reviews!

Kicking things off with a trio of excellent adventures that I hear absolutely nobody talking about.

:sparkles: The First Constance Trilogy :sparkles:

A double crossing spy makes a dangerous alliance; the Rani finds herself usurped by a living god; and Viking ghosts standing twenty feet tall prepare for battle in the Arizona Desert!

You ever heard of a bread sandwich? Something so utterly bland and mundane that it seems completely pointless, regardless of quality.

It was blidningly obvious that BigFinish hadn’t a clue where to go with the Fifth Doctor following the Older Nyssa Arc.

Bought Criss-Cross in a sale recently and I’m really looking forward to it—I love Constance. Glad to hear it captured your ear!

The last few years have seen Briggsy and co. spewing out box sets like there’s no tomorrow, which has led to a pretty harsh decline in quality…

Does anyone actually give a damn about the Harry and Naomi story arc?

I remember when they actually reserved box sets for special occasions, and there was nothing more special than a reunion for the Season 19 TARDIS team!

:sparkles: The Fifth Doctor Box Set :sparkles:

A unique space station that will make our travellers confront how they really feel about each other; a haunted house where an unimaginable foe resides…

I’m well overdue a check-in with everyone’s favourite bounty hunter, but I never expected her to be working with the rozzers!

Apparently these three reviews have been on my SSD since April… not only is that quite a long while, but that also means they were written pre-my arrival on TardisGuide. Good grief!

:sparkles: Vienna Series Two :sparkles:

Ever wanted to check into a hotel where you can become someone else? How about exploring the seedy underbelly of a gleaming metropolis? Or maybes you just want some immersive cinema… viewed from someone else’s eyes!

Hey all,

Not posting a review here, but just thought I would mention that I’ve joined the blue butterfly app now - will likely keep you posted if / when I eventually come back to reviewing regularly over there.

Otherwise, expect just my usual random ramblings.

Cheers!

Christmas is supposedly a joyous time - they said drinking Bucks Fizz whilst writing this - so here’s a story about politics that I reviewed months ago and forgot to upload!

Long before Christopher Eccleston was tempted to join the audio adventures, this oddity existed, and was promptly ridiculed for one of the most questionable impersonations you could encounter (there’s a reason Dudman did the other Chronicles ranges).

But are the stories themselves any good?

Let’s find out!

:sparkles: The Ninth Doctor Chronicles :sparkles:

“Ello! I’m the Doctor. Ay, what’s going on round here”

Good God, Briggleston genuinely hurts my soul.

I never thought Briggs’s Eccleston was that bad to be honest. I thought he did well to capture some of his cadence.
