My first thought was 12 and Mickey. Just the Doctor shouting at him all the time to shut up and stop bothering him.

Four and Clara. Four figuring it all out, with Clara just leaning against the TARDIS console just saying “Bugger”, while the Doctor just laughs.
I would like a three and Kate episode. Feels like it would be fun for him to meet the daughter of the Brig.
Cheating a bit here, but I genuinely think having Chris and Roz alongside the Ninth Doctor would work exceptionally well - I feel like Roz in particlar would get on like a house on fire with old big ears
