Not sure I agree with this comic info on TARDIS Wiki

I’m currently re-reading a Tale of Two Time Lords - A Little Help From My Friends. The story sees Thirteen and co. have a multi-Doctor story with Ten and Martha while they’re trapped in the 60s during Blink.

More SPOILERS below, but because there’s there’s screenshots not sure I should bother blurring the info at this point:

Now, in the back half of the story the gang find themselves under the Thames and when Ten says he doesn’t like it down there, Martha tells him he’s not alone. Thirteen remarks to herself that she was incredibly thick (dense, stupid) back then. TARDIS Wiki says this is a reference to the Doctor not understanding what the Face of Boe meant when he told him he wasn’t alone.

My interpretation is that since it was alluded to earlier in the comic, that Thirteen is remarking on how Ten didn’t see how much Martha liked him because he was too hung up on Rose still. That’s it.

In short, I don’t agree with TW’s assessment on this small matter. Lol

Maybe I’m the one reading too much into it, but thought it might be worth a discussion.

What are your thoughts?

I didn’t realise this WASN’T the intention of the line??? what else could it be referring to other than ten’s treatment of Martha?

As someone who has read this comic (and loved it), I think the Wiki is interpreting it a bit strangely.

The Face of Boe and his message have nothing to do with the plot, and I definitely think Thirteen is referring to Ten and Martha’s relationship.

Having re-read that comic recently, I agree with you. Don’t think YANA was related in any way

not just a bit strangely…there is no reference to the face of boe or utopia in the comic??? this is a wild conclusion to draw :sob:

TARDIS Wiki is like Wikipedia. You can change anything you think may be incorrect. You can also make a “talk page” on the relevant entry to discuss the interpretation of that section with other editors before fully committing to editing.

I’m curious if there was much discussion on this matter before it was edited in.

It’s such a wild read because she said “You’re not alone.” Lol I originally went looking for an answer to a different reference and saw this and was like ???

You can open up a discussion on the wiki on why you think that note should be removed, or ask what source they’re using to make the claim.

Oooh this intrigues me to try out this comic. I don’t really do comics but this looks good!!

(Yeah the Wiki is weirdly wrong, you can go in and edit it!)

You are right and the wiki is wrong. One of the best moments in that story.

It’s great, highly recommended!

Although there is some connections to other Thirteenth Doctor Titan comics, you might be fine starting here.

I think that you can read only this. It is not that important or have I forgotten anything?

Well there are references to Old Friends, with the Stellar Net being used to defeat the Weeping Angels, but to be honest, I think you can read this without having read the other ones.

But what about the cliffhanger? Surely you’ll want to read Alternating Current afterwards

Yes but that is just a good thing to get him shocked :joy:. I have not read AC yet it is the next one on my list.

thats such a stretch i feel. my memory is a little foggy but doesnt that comic also have other moments where thirteenth is reflecting back on her obliviouness regarding martha? almost 100% sure thats how the line was intended as well

Yeah, that’s a running theme throughout the story.

I might just do that then.
