New Series Adventures: Fear Death by Water

Would low key love it if s3 has her as a writer and if we get more expanded writers for the show I feel Emily could be top tier

I think that she would write a great TV episode. Her episode of Rose Tyler is also really good. I loved that she made herself a character in the prologue; that is such a sweet thing to do and shows how much heart went into this.

Ooh this is convincing me to pre-order it (not available in the US yet and I don’t feel like paying for international shipping)!

Finished this book this morning. It was a really good book and probably my favourite of the 15th book. Grace Darling was not someone who I know about but she sounds like an interesting woman and you could feel that there was a lot of research done for this book.

The best part of the book was how obvious it was that the author loves this show. There were so many easter eggs and references to the history of the show. It is also nice that she wrote herself into the book.

I really recommend this book!

Hey does anyone know if they will make a paperback edition of this? I really wanna get it but I can’t stand hardback, too bulky. Thanks.

I would be surprised if we never got a paperback, but, if recent gaps between HB and PB releases are anything to go by, it’ll probably be in a few years

Read this over the last week or so. Really good story. I think historical with more niche figures tend to work better than those who are more ‘significant’.

I know it’s a silly complaint but I find it so annoying when the doctor is pictured of a book cover wearing a different outfit to what the text describes.

I would agree if not because the cover looks so good!

Oh yeah that cover looks nice. They should have just ctrl + f for ‘leather trenchcoat’ in the book and changed it to ‘denim waistcoat’

I do find it amusing that non-UK fans are unfamiliar with Grace Darling. As soon as I saw her name I thought it was an obvious person for a Doctor Who story and I’m surprised it’s taken over 60 years for it to happen.

That said, she’s obvious to me only because she was featured in a Blue Peter annual I pored over in my childhood and also because I spent a lot of holidays touring RNLI lifeboat stations because we spent a lot of time at various locations around the English coast and my dad had a bit of a fascination with them (probably because they were/are free to visit).

I am looking forward to eventually reading this one.
