Well, it was 1982, so probably not the right time for special effects of that caliber in music videos.
Ray Sawyer actually lost his eye in a car crash, and wore that eye patch ever since, so it wasn’t really something done for the video. Fun song and video and band, though. Their musical catalogue ranged from “When You’re In Love with a Beautiful Woman” to “Freakin’ at the Freakers Ball”…
