I listened to the album Demon Days for the first time today.
It’s really, really good.

RIP Stedman Pearson
Not sure if I’ve posted this before? But this is only the intro song on this album and it’s soooo good. I think a lot of bands make their intro songs on albums almost as an afterthought, but not Dead Can Dance. It sets up everything after it, and it’s so addictive even on its own. It’s not for everyone I guess but gothic rock never is.
I could listen to this album a million times and never get tired of it - and I’m well on my way there lol. In a way, it’s kind of tragic that DCD pivoted more into the neoclassical darkwave angle after their first couple of albums, because I genuinely believe they were the best of gothic rock with this album and Spleen and Ideal. But in another way I understand - they were the peak of the genre in the mid 80s, it was probably for the best for them to move on to another genre rather than fizzle out. They continue to amaze me. I hope I can catch one of their shows someday.
Jenny’s Story was specifically for Whiskey in the Jar, but here’s a few more songs for St. Patrick’s Day…
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Truth is, all I really want is somebody who wants me / Somebody I can count on, who won’t disappoint me / At first it seems easy, I vow not to give up / Let 'em debase me, while keeping my chin up
literally one of my favourite albums of all time
I didn’t know that much about I, Monster past their most famous song - Daydream in Blue - but exploring their music further turns out its basically fits directly into one of my music niches.
These are my two favourite tracks so far.
Blimey! I’m seeing FKA Twigs on her current tour, sounds
