Was listening to some Nick Drake earlier, coincidentally this year marks the 50th anniversary of his passing. What a talent. Sublime.

Just came back home from seeing RENT, so I guess I’m gonna have this song stuck in my head for the next few days.

Some songs by Alarmbaby. There might be some NSFW elements in them. Some content gets political (anti-right / pro-democracy).

I think that covers all the content warnings. Enjoy!

These ones are living in my mind rent free at the moment:

Kesha’s new song is absolutely fantastic. So happy she’s still making music after going independent.

Had this on repeat recently

I adore RENT - seen in three times (once with Caprice - yes Caprice - as Maureen and once with Adam Rickett - yes, Adam Rickett - as Mark - and even they couldn’t ruin it). So many favourite songs - Santa Fe, I’ll Cover You (especially the reprise after Angel’s death), Tango Maureen, Take Me For What I Am, One Song, Out Tonight. Seasons of Love and of course La Vie Boheme.

I’d never promote stealing likeness’, but sometimes there are exceptions.

Yep, George Harrison bought a record that had James Ray’s version of “Got My Mind Set On You”, and decided to record his own cover of the song!

The song’s actually written by Rudy Clark, but James Ray was the first recorded version. I always find it interesting to go back and listen to the original versions of popular covers. (And to find out what songs are actually covers…)

And then Weird Al did a parody of the Harrison version:
