We actually have a James Bond if you want to talk about From Russia With Love there.
Oh yes, I am aware of it! I think I will wait and talk about it when I finish my last remaining two Connery Bond Adventures!
My husband just made me sit through Thunderball, the next Bond movie in our marathon, because “you’ve been watching lots of your telly lately” (ie Torchwood).
I’m not posting this in the Bond thread because if you have nothing nice to say, and all that…
It was the most boring movie I’ve ever seen
And the womanising and general sexism just makes me hate it
To be fair, Thunderball is one of the weaker Bond movies, and it’s painfully slow especially during the underwater sequences, because every punch and kick takes much longer to land underwater
The next one is a fun one (and I think a certain Dane likes it a lot…)!
You don’t enjoy the endless slow underwater ‘action’ scenes lol
To be honest I’d kind of phased out before it even got to that point anyway.
Recently watched David Lynch’s “The Elephant Man”. Such a great movie.
Anthony Hopkins was amazing, and late great John Hurt as Joseph Merrick was downright adorable.
stares into the Darkness knowing that this, and it’s sort of “Remake” are the last Connery Ones for me to watch Well…
Superb Movie! I think it was the first I saw from Lynch and still think it’s excellent!
I recommend you watch literally anything else instead.
It’s not that it’s bad per se, it’s just dull. I actually haven’t seen Never Say Never Again, so I don’t know if it’s better.
I sit through the Parody Casino Royale, I am sure that Movie can’t be any worse than that!
That’s a little more reassuring at least!
I know it isn’t liked at all, every Bond Ranking has this at the Bottom Spot, and it seems to be perhaps playing it too safe from what I heard. I will give it a watch eventually, but not sure when exactly.
Oh, it’s definitely better than whatever that was supposed to be
I would watch Thunderball over something like Die Another Day or Quantum of Solace.
Reassuring, both Movies in need of a rewatch, I remember really not liking Quantum at all. Die Another Day has somewhat charm to it, even if it’s a downgrade compared to the other 3 Brosnan ones.
Perfect Sunday afternoon movie. One of those old UK films full of familiar character actors, & some that would go on to bigger things.
I have to say I never really watched any of the Movies from this Franchise (maybe the first one, but I can’t recall it properly), but I saw this Trailer, and it looks pretty good to me, perhaps this should be my call to finally watch all Movies from it… hmm
I’m a sucker for disaster movies so the opening salvos of these films always have me totally hooked. And then the tension of watching to see how each character will end up dead is sometimes too much to bear without watching through my fingers. Love them though so will look forward to seeing this one.
I had a sleepy, comfort watch tonight. Ocean’s Eleven (remake). One of my low-key favourite films.
