Movie time

It’s finally over :tada:

Ok there were two things I enjoyed.

Seeing Nicholas Cage as Superman after his movie was scrapped in the 90s was awesome :+1: And I laughed heartily when George Clooney was the Batman that rolled up at the end

But yeah that’s 2 hours and 15 minutes of my life I’m never getting back…

But the CGI tho :sob:

It was horrendous through the whole movie, but for that cameo/joke I didn’t mind as much

I guess that’s fair.

The babies pretty much desensitize you right away lol

Those babies looked just so, so wrong!

If movie makers are going to use CGI to this extent they really need to give the studios the time to do the job well.
I’m just really glad that I waited until it was on a streaming service - seeing that movie on the big screen would have scarred my psyche rather permanent I suspect…

It should have never came out like this, and I don’t think it was supposed to. The movie burnt through a couple directors before it got thrown out in hopes of making some money back.

I just really hope it will help DC that they finally have a “Showrunner”.
I guess ‘Creature Commandos’ is doing well enough, but it really comes down to ‘Superman’ to kick the “Gunnverse” off.

I’m sure that however terrible it is, it can’t be worse than Madame Web. That is how not to do a comic book movie.

I already sat through “Morbius”, "Thor: Love and Thunder "(and now “The Flash”), it can’t be worse than those surely? - I will have to brave it at some point

Marvel’s “Sonyverse” is probably the worst Cinematic Universe out there.
The premise on it’s own is just ‘A Spider-Man universe without Spider-Man’…
It’s the most money-hungry idea ever lol

I believe the director or someone has asked audiences to give Kraven the Hunter a chance and not judge it based on opinions about Madame Web!

Madame-Web, Venom, Morbius… It’s not really one bad thing. Again the idea itself is weird.

But I genuinely try to go into everything with an open and positive mindset, even if it doesn’t sound like it right now. Venom has garnered quite a fanbase after all. So even if I don’t like it Sony wasn’t wrong in putting trust into their idea.

Oh trust me; it can! It’s genuinely one of the worst things I have ever sat through and I regret every second of it!

I forgot that film existed.

Incidentally, was looking over on Project Gutenburg, and one of the stories I mentioned is up there, “Scanners Live In Vain!”, by Cordwainer Smith:

Martel was angry. He did not even adjust his blood away from anger. He stamped across the room by judgment, not by sight. When he saw the table hit the floor, and could tell by the expression on Luci’s face that the table must have made a loud crash, he looked down to see if his leg were broken. It was not. Scanner to the core, he had to scan himself. The action was reflex and automatic. The inventory included his legs, abdomen, Chestbox of instruments, hands, arms, face and back with the Mirror. Only then did Martel go back to being angry. He talked with his voice, even though he knew that his wife hated its blare and preferred to have him write.

Another story by him, “Game of Rat and Dragon” is up there, too:

Pinlighting is a hell of a way to earn a living. Underhill was furious as he closed the door behind himself. It didn’t make much sense to wear a uniform and look like a soldier if people didn’t appreciate what you did.

He sat down in his chair, laid his head back in the headrest and pulled the helmet down over his forehead.

As he waited for the pin-set to warm up, he remembered the girl in the outer corridor. She had looked at it, then looked at him scornfully.

“Meow.” That was all she had said. Yet it had cut him like a knife.

I always forget about Project Gutenberg! Thanks, I’ll try to find the time to read them soon.

No problem! I forget about them because so little actually gets into the public domain…

Honestly, looking back at the start of “Scanners Live In Vain!”, I had to remind myself that this was published 13 years before Doctor Who. I have to wonder if Kit Pedler had read this.

Almost as bad as the MCU?

What about the Universal Dark Universe? One movie and it was toast.

That post credit scene in Morbius was just so weird. (But I suppose that fits the movie…)

All movie he is trying to control his vampirism and succeeds. But suddenly Michael Keaton as Vulture from Spiderman Homecoming comes along and tries to recruit him to kill Spiderman and he is just totally game and bloodthirsty???
